I sigh as I take another sip of my water, patiently waiting for the Doors to open. My eyelids are still heavy with sleep and I close them when the familiar rumbling of the Doors begin to sound, similar to an alarm clock. I anxiously peep around the quiet Glade, afraid if I was going to be caught going into the Maze. Alby's voice still rings clear in my mind,

Rule number one? Never, ever, under any circumstances, go into the Maze. Don't wanna be losing our Greenie within forty-eight hours of her arrival. It's too dangerous.

He had managed to answer my question before I even asked, and when he left, I realised that curiosity kills the cat, but satisfaction brings it back.

I grip tightly onto the pack I had stolen from Ben's room, and race into the Maze, curiosity burning in my mind as to why this Maze was so dangerous.

Having no clue as to what I am doing, I just run. I run and run, feeling my muscles tensing from the strenuous exercise I am performing on my legs. I don't know how long I've been running for, but I figure I should get back and hopefully slip through the cracks of Alby's hawk eye. As I round a corner, I meet with a dead end. I run straight into the wall and fall backwards. After gracelessly landing on my butt, I get up, head spinning and eyes shut. Ow, running into walls really hurt.

"What the hell, Ashley?!"

I open my eyes and see a fuming Minho standing in front of me, arms crossed and brows furrowed. I cringe at the thought of someone finding out I had snuck into the Maze.

"Oh my god, are you stupid or something?! You could have died out here!"

Minho's voice is rising at an alarming rate and I grimace.

"I'm sorry, I needed to find out what was out here!"

"Grievers, Ashley. Grievers are out here and they could have stung you and you wouldn't have made it out of here."

I am shocked and hurt at his statement, because Minho is seriously underestimating me. I could make it out of here. And I'll prove it to him.

While Minho is still ranting about the dangers of the Maze, I become fed up and out of anger, I push him with all my might and pin hi, against a wall. I narrow my eyes, while confusion glazes over his coffee stained eyes. "Shut up Minho! You don't even know me, so don't act like you do. You need to learn to pull your head out of your ass and actually see that you can't just go around being judgemental of other people!" I spit in his face and before he has anything to retaliate, I have already started running away from him, tears pooling in my eyes as I wipe them away.

I also fully apologise for suffering writer's block for ages. I really appreciate those who continue to read my book after all the wait. I promise to now be active, so if you got an imagine request, send it in!
