(Adrinna POV)
"Ughghgh... why do we have to do this?" I asked...
"Adrinna! Don't. Whine." My brother slightly scolded. I shut my mouth tightly. Cut me some slack, I've lived with him all my life, 15 years, he is really scary. I can't say I've seen his soft side, Except for two or three awkward sibling hugs. Otherwise just frightening. I don't see how some of Yugure isn't scared of him. Fujin, may be an exception, he's too stupid to realize Jay's frightening authority. Honestly, out of Fujin and his lynx, Natsu, Natsu is a lot more smart.
Jay has been more intimidating lately, even before Philoso left, ever since Lynn went on that walk after showing Cait and Sil around.
"Cait, you and Adrinna go look over there, maybe you'll have better luck, I'll look over here." Said Jay dosing off.
"You got it." Said Cait, Guiding amber to a fairly large tree, as Jay walked toward a pond roughly thirty-five feet across, and forty-feet wide, with the end of his coat slither behind him, as if it were a snake.
"Is he always in a bad mood?" Asked Cait. Once we were a safe distance from him.
"He's a natural leader, but lately he's been more..." A started but couldn't find the right word.
"Cranky, mean, strict, ticked off?" Said Cait trying to finish my sentence.
"We'll when you put it like that, it sounds mean."
"I'm a Ritter, I speak my mind."
"I don't mean to be rude but, how come you aren't like the other Ritters? Doing, you know, the whole war thing."
"Well, a long time ago, my dad had been working for this man. My dad had to do all this guy's dirty work. One day he had to go into this cave on the side of a mountain. While climbing he fell off of a ledge into a crevasse and nearly froze to death. That's when these Triche guards found him, they took him in kindly and, well, you can see why I trust them, why do we have to imprison them?" She said after stopping amber so we could take a break.
"Oh..."
"Why did you guys take in Fujin?"
"I- I don't really know. I believe he and Philoso were in a village close to the one Daelynn, Jay and I lived in." I replied.
"Did you really have to take him in?" She asked.
"Apparently..." I said. In complete silence. There was a rustle in a couple of bushes.
"What was that!?" I yelled in a whispery voice.
"It's just your imagination."
"Are you sure?"
"It was the wind." She said.
That's when I saw my brother sneaking up behind her. From behind the bushes.
"Cait!" He yelled, she jumped forty feet into the air. I laughed so hard my sides hurt.
"That's not funny!" She yelled pulling out her sword.
"I'm not a complete a grouch, I am actually pretty fun."
"You are mean." She said. I was still laughing when Jay picked me up and started carrying me.
I struggled, then bit his hand. He dropped me and I returned the favor with a kick to his... unmentionables.
"Ha! Now you know how I feel!" Said Cait pointing at him. As he curled on the ground in pain about to cry. I continued to laugh ten times harder with Cait. I'm pretty sure every one else heard us.
