Yugure

The Blondes and The Bears

(Philoso POV)

I had made an attempt to get out of bed and ended up rolling off of it. It's weird, the one I have here is smaller than the one back at the base. My bareback did not feel good on the very cold, stone floor. Getting to my feet, I moved to the kitchenette included in the hide-out. I patted Raion's neck shortly, then yawning, started breakfast for one. Raion had her horse feed in the living area.

I heard a noise outside, similar to a scream. I dropped everything, including the hot pan with my half-cooked sausage. Which hit my toes, and ran to the exit, Raion following behind.

I pulled the lever, opening the door, and ran out, clutching at my foot every few steps. I stopped, staring as a younger blondie ran from the trees. The girl was screaming at the top of her lungs, like bloody murder. Behind, was a black bear. I jumped onto Raion, still missing a shirt, and ran towards the girl.

Reaching down, I pulled the girl up onto Raion's back. "Hold on tight!" I shouted, I felt her arms wrap around my torso, then charged at the bear. Instead of hurting it, Raion jumped over. I steered her back towards the Yugure base. I didn't stop even when we shot past Cait, Adrinna, and Jay, Jay was lying on the ground. Raion kept running, out of fear, because the bear was right behind us. We charged into the stables, running straight through and out the back.

I could hear the sounds of startled horses as the bear followed. Raion kept running, as we passed Adiva, Fujin, and Ceridwen. I looked back, only to see them jump ten feet up as the bear charged past as well.

I could also hear the shouting of my Yugure 'friends' and looked back to see them chasing after the bear. I urged Raion on, running through the trees. We passed Silver and Daelynn, and I spun Raion around to face the bear just past them.

"Stay here." I told the girl, jumping down from Raion. Jay, Silver, Daelynn, Adiva, Cait, Ceridwen, Fujin, and Adrinna reached us, taking up their fighting states.

I could hear Daelynn saying, "Oi, Sai! Come here, would you?" After that, I turn to my left to see another boy, with yellow eyes and wearing yellow, standing next to Daelynn. A blue dragon was sitting calmly father off.

The girl, ignoring my words, jumped off Raion. She held out her hand, and her bracelet glowed, summoning a neon-rainbow kitten. She also held her hand out to the necklace, which like Silver's, became a pair of shimmering wings. Except for the fact that they were purple and not hot pink.

'Guys, we got to get rid of that bear!' Daelynns voice filled my head, and from the others' expressions, they heard it too.

'Don't sit there slack jawed! Get a move on! Huh, who's the kid? And by the way, Philoso, where is your shirt?'

"Tell you later Lynn!" I shouted, then summoned my courage. I pulled out my sword, facing the bear. Jay pulled out his whip, Lynn got her Shuriken out and handed a couple kunai knives to Ceridwen. Fujin had backed up, and climbed into a tree. He was holding his bow, the arrow ready to fire. The yellow-eyed guy had out a sword as well, which was glowing blue, and his dragon had fallen asleep a little ways off. Adiva had moved to a higher spot in the trees then Fujin and looked to be watching the bear. Her bow had an arrow held at the ready. Adrinna had taken out her sword, which was flaming. Jay's whip had begun to flame in spots too. Silver called upon her staff and wings.

Three lynxes, a wolf dragon, a kitten, a pegasus, a falcon, a fire horse, and two Tigers had also joined us, standing by their respective owners.

I saw Jay running towards the bear with his whip ready. Trying to give the beast a good lash on the neck, he hit it's front leg. 'Jay, honey, I speak for all of us when I say, we would really appreciate it if you would hit it somewhere that could kill it!'

"Shut up! Why don't you do something Instead of standing there shouting at me!?" Yelled Jay who was now on top of the bear. Trying to strangle it with the whip, he was thrown into the air with the whip and started to run from it.

"I was not shouting!" She yelled, throwing a Shuriken at the bear hitting its ear.

"Maybe you should try killing it, honey." Jay said in a high, mocking voice. I heard a stifled laugh from Adrinna.

Where'd the yellow-eyed guy go. I looked up just a little bit to find him up in a maple tree with a bored expression, with a slight interest in Lynn. Did we get a new member or...? Did Daelynn take him prisoner? She's never done that before but, from what I've heard she has "encountered" someone. Sure, I eavesdrop on her and Jay, I just want to see him make a move. It's awfully obvious he likes her, even Fujin was able to piece it together, with my assistance, and there's no outsmarting a stargazer.

"You've been what!?" Dealynn screamed. I jumped and barely caught my sword.

"When I get my hands on you, that bear will be the least of your worries!" She yelled and tried to walk towards me and the bear charged towards her.

"Daelynn! Watch out!" Jay yelled as he used his whip as a rope swing and jumped toward her and grabbed her around the waist before the bear got to her. looked at them and chuckled as she slapped him.

Looking around, I also realized Silver, and the other Triche I found earlier, were gone.

"Guys! Guys! Help! Please!" I heard Adrinna scream. I looked over to where she was standing. Amazingly, her sword was in two pieces. She was dodging the bear as it swung it's paws at her. While doing this the bear was back handing a good amount of the members.
