Part 3: All You Need Is Love (RB)

David was making Henry a grilled cheese. David noticed that he was looking off into nothingness.

"What's on your mind kid?" David asked as he draped a towel over his shoulder.

"Hmm, I'm just really worried about my mom." David took that as a reference to Emma and not Regina.

"We'll get her back and Mary Margaret soon." He reassured.

"No, I meant my other mom-". David instantly knew, Regina. "We just left her in the stables what of something happened to her?" Henry asked getting nervous.

"I'm sure she's home and fine." He placed a hand on the boy's shoulder.

"But, what if she's not?-".

"Henry-". He tried to reassure him, no way.

"Please, can we go and see if she's okay?"

There was a moment of silence and a long sigh that escaped David. "Alright."

Regina's Bedroom

She literally cried herself to sleep. Her heart felt like as if someone had torn it in half. She had the house freezing cold, she thought maybe maybe I could freeze myself to death.

She heard a faint knock coming from downstairs. It was probably her cruel mind playing tricks on her. David don't even care enough to see if I was ok. Or Henry.

"Regina, open up." David knocked a little harder.

"Don't yell, you'll scare her off." Henry said and knocked lighter on the door. "Mom, please come out-". He paused. "I love you." By now Regina was at the door hearing those words, the usual snakes came out instead as loving hugs and warmth that embraced her cold heart.

She held the door handle and took a deep breath in.  She finally opened the door.  Her dreams came true, Henry was at the door.

   "Henry?"  She breathed out. She hugged her son dearly and he hugged her tight. She silently said 'thank you' to David who was looking at their embrace. He nodded his head.

"I love you."  He said through the hug.

   "I love you to." Tears were pooling in her eyes, tears of joy.

   "I don't get it, why did you come here?"  She thought her son hated her.

   "I was worried about you."

   "I'm okay honey, you don't have to worry."  She assured. 

   "Can I stay the night?!"  Henry jumped in front of David.

   "Sure, but I don't know if Re-"

   "No, really David, I'm fine, I'd love to have him sleep over."  She said with a huge smile.

   "Alright, well I'll pick you up tomorrow I guess."  Henry went upstairs to his room.

   "Oh, and David."  She added and he turned around.

   "Yes?"

   "Thank you again, for letting me see my son."  She smiled.

   "Of course."  He smiled and continued.  "Have a nice night, Regina." 

   She closed the door and went upstairs.  Henry had some photo albums sprawled across his bed.  She smiled and leaned against the door.

   "Can we look through these?"  He asked while she sat next to him on the bed.

   "Of course, dear."  She picked one up, it was one filled with when he was a baby.  "Oh, look your first bath." She said looking at an adorable baby Henry in the kitchen sink, buck naked.

"Mommmm." He groaned trying to turn the page. She just laughed.

She then saw a picture of when Henry was about 5 going to his first day of school. Tears welled up again. She missed those years him as the cutest little button of a kid. He was her son. And all she needed, was love.
