Emma was sitting in the sheriff's station eating a bear claw.  Her shift was nearly over.  She was aware that Cora and Captain Hook were in Storybrooke.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket and she fumbled to get it out.  It was Regina.  This was strange.  Regina rarely if ever called Emma.

"Hello?"  She asked in a soft voice, continuing to eat the bear claw.

"Emma...please help me."  Regina said in a voice that wasn't hers.  It was so broken and labored.  "I-I don't know what to do."  Regina coughed loudly near the phone.  Emma was getting really concerned.  If she hadn't of had called id she wouldn't of known it to be Regina.

"What's wrong?"  She asked and put down the pastry.

"I'm-" she hacked some more, receiving a scrunch of Emma's face.  "At the docks.  Please just help me."  She sounded like she was dying.  That voice really concerned her.

"I'll be right there.  Stay put."  Emma commanded and ran out of the station.

...

Emma was speeding down the streets to get to the docks.  Regina sounded horrible and it terrified her.  She thought she was dying, was she?

She had gotten there as fast as she could.  She got out of her bug and walked around the soaked boards of the marina.

"Regina?!"  She called out.  Then she heard some rough coughing and hacking.  Regina's head perked up as blood spilled out of her mouth.  She was throwing up the crimson liquid. Emma turned on her feet.  Her eyes fell onto Regina.  Omg.

"Regina!  Holy crap!  I didn't know it was this bad."  She ran to her and held hair out of the way as she threw up more blood.  "I'm calling the hospital-"

"No!  Don't-don't y-you dare.  Please."  Regina pleaded.  She rose her head up.

Emma finally saw her face.  Her mouth was swimming in blood, it poured out of her mouth.  More blood was coming out of her nose and above her eye.  Blood was everywhere.  She looked over and saw her Mercedes right behind her.  The driver's-side window was smashed out.

She took Regina's hand and inspected it.  Her knuckles were dripping with blood.  How is this woman even standing?  She should be unconscious.

"I'm calling the hospital and you're not stopping me."  Emma said sternly.  She dialed nine-one-one.

"Nine-one-one what's your emergency?"  The operator asked.

"I'm the sheriff, and my friend's in bad shape.  She's coughing up blood, she's got cuts on her face, her nose bleeding, cuts on her hand."  She tried to say calmly.

"Okay and where are you located?"

   "The docks."

"The ambulance is on its way.  Thank you for being calm."  The operator said and hung up.

Emma looked back at Regina.  She looked as if she was going to explode.

   "Regina?"  She asked softly.

Regina walked over to her car and started punching at the door and window.  She was kicking the tire.  "I hate my life!  I hate it!  I just want to die!  I hate my damn life so damn much!"  She grunted while assaulting the car.
