Part 29: Friendship is Inevitable (SQ)

Sequel to "A Shoulder to Cry On".

Emma stood in the waiting room nervously. Regina had gone into emergency surgery. Then Emma's phone buzzed in her pocket.

"Hey-"

"Emma?!" Snow shouted, "Where are you?!"

"At the hospital." Snow quickly grew concerned. "Regina's been attacked, it's really bad. It's really bad, mom."

"What- who attacked her?" Snow was getting really worried.

"Gold." Emma said bitterly.

"David, Henry, and I will be there soon." Snow said in a panicky voice.

She hung up and Emma put her phone back into her pocket. Then Doctor Whale came into the room. Emma rushed up to him.

"How is she?"

"She's just gotten out of surgery and she seems to being handling that well. We repaired her cavity and we bandaged her up. But she has blood in her lungs so we're draining that now. She'll most certainly be on an oxygen tank for a while. Right now she needs lots of rest." He put a hand on her shoulder. "She's a tough woman. I think she'll pull through."

"Thank you." She nodded and headed back to her seat.

She noticed something in the corner of her eye so she turned to look at the figure. It was Gold. That snake!

She got up to him and pushed him back. "You hurt my friend again and I'll castrate you!" She threatened.

"Oh no need for that dearie." He chuckled and she glared at him. "I'm purely here to pay visit to our dear pirate." He tried to move but she punched him in the face which he merely chuckled at.

"Your presence isn't justified here, Gold. Get the hell out before I arrest you."

"Your threats Ms. Swan aren't very affective as for I frankly don't give a damn." He said getting close to her face in a taunting manner.

"I don't give a damn whether you give a damn or not." Then she noticed David, Henry, and Snow. "Dad arrest him."

"Gladly." He said while roughly taking Gold's arms, but he disappeared in a cloud of gray smoke. Emma and David sighed.

"Where's Regina?"  Snow asked worriedly. 

   "She just go out of surgery and now they said they're draining the fluid out of her lungs and she needs rest."

   "Oh my God."  Snow whispered and fell into David.  He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her forehead.

   "She'll be alright." 

   "Can I see her?"  Henry asked with tears in his eyes. 

   "Uh I don't know kid.  I'll ask."  Emma said and Henry crashed into her.

   "I'm scared what if she doesn't make it?"  He cried out.

   "She'll make it Henry."

   They only allowed two people at a time to visit her.  Henry and Emma went in.  Regina was in the ICU and she was hooked up to many machines.  She had a cannula in her nose connected to an oxygen tank.  She had bruises all over her.  White bandages and some stitches covered her battered face. 

   "Mom?"  He whispered.  He slowly walked up to her sleeping form and gently touched her hand and held it.  "I love you mom.  You gotta pull through, okay?"  He said and kissed her forehead.  Emma was touched by this.  Regina deserved this, someone to love her.
