Chapter 10

Ashton's POV

Luke pulls away from hugging me and smiles, "No, I don't remember you, but I just wanted a hug."

I smile and hug Luke again. Tears run down my face because this is not the life I want Luke to live. He's so free willing and outgoing yet he can't even remember what he loves.

I pull away from the hug again looking at Luke, "Okay, go get your stuff and check out."

I walk out with him while he goes to check out. I join Scarlett in the waiting room. Just before I tried to comfort Scarlett, I see nurses panicking in the middle of the hallway and I hear them yelling.

"Hurry! Someone get him in a bed," a nurse yells.

"He's having a seizure," another nurse yells.

The boys, Scarlett and myself run down to see the commotion. There I saw, my best friend, shaking uncontrollably and foaming at the mouth.

"PLEASE! PLEASE LET ME HUG HIM FOR FUCK SAKE!" Scarlett screams trying to break through the barrier of nurses surrounding Luke. "PLEASE!" She cries.

Before she could be more of a distraction, I pick her up and throw her over my shoulder and carry her outside.

My heart was broken. Luke is sick, Scarlett is sick and I am just losing everything. I put Scarlett down and rest my hands on her shoulders, "Hey, listen," I say while wiping a tear from the corner of her eye, "Luke will be okay. Alright?"

Scarlett was quiet for a few seconds but it was ruined when she started to yell again, "NO! Ashton you don't fucking understand. Luke said he was going to be fine after this surgery and since he's not, that's not a fucking good sign. Don't tell me it's okay when it's not. And guess what? I start treatment tomorrow and I'm gonna have to go through it all and be on the same floor as Luke and he has no clue who the hell I am and--" Scarlett was rambling but I interrupted her with a kiss.

She eventually calms down and I just admire her beautiful eyes, swollen from crying yet still beautiful.

We sat on a bench in silence for awhile, waiting for everyone to come out from the hospital. I couldn't help but think that Scarlett would finally be in here tomorrow.

But in all seriousness, what the hell was I going to do without her?
