This one shot is dedicated to my friend, as she gave me the idea for this. Also, this may contain mature themes, I'm not really sure, but if you are easily upset, I would suggest maybe not reading this, especially if the idea of someone running away triggers anything. If not, great, and I hope you enjoy!
Grantaire had been missing for three weeks. Enjolras was growing more and more worried everyday. He constantly called and texted the brunette, but there was never an answer.
"Why won't he pick up!" Enjolras cried impatiently, to no one in particular.
Courfeyrac sighed. "I don't know, Enjy. Maybe -"
"QUIET, IT'S RINGING!"
Courfeyrac and Combeferre exchanged a worried look. They knew Grantaire wouldn't answer the call, but Enjolras couldn't seem to get it into his head.
"No chance, no way, I won't say I'm in love!" sang Jehan from the kitchen.
"JEHAN, SHUT UP!" The singing stopped abruptly. Soon after, the sound of the kettle boiling could be heard from the same room.
"AHHHHHHH!" Enjolras screamed in exasperation, throwing the phone onto the sofa and storming out of the room.
"What's the matter with him?" Combeferre asked when he had gone, "We're all worried about R, but he hasn't talked about anything else since!"
"I don't know, 'Ferre, I really don't." Courfeyrac replied.
Just then, Eponine burst into the room, looking slightly windswept. "Is there any news from -"
"DON'T SAY IT, 'PONINE!" Enjolras yelled from his bedroom. Eponine looked at the two boys, but they just shook their heads. Eponine's face fell and she slumped onto the sofa.
"I think, what we all need is a cup of tea." said Jehan, popping his head around the doorway.
"Yes, please." the three of them sighed.

It was three o'clock in the morning and Enjolras was in the house alone. He did not sleep, merely cried into his pillow. Grantaire may never come back and he would never have told him he loved him.
All of a sudden, Enjolras heard a key fumbling around in the front door and eventually open. He flew out of bed and into the hallway. What he saw made his heart lift and shatter at the same time.
Grantaire was stood in the hallway, his clothes ripped and face bleeding. He had a black eye and was holding a bottle of wine in his right hand. He tried to step towards him, but lost his footing and fell into the wall instead.
"Enjo-" He began, but stopped when the blonde flew his arms around him and held him in a tight embrace.
"Don't ever leave me again." Enjolras croaked through his tears. There was a moments silence where they just held each other close.
"I go' wine on your shirt." Grantaire said.
"It doesn't matter." Enjolras replied. He released the brunette and took his face in his hands. "What happened to you?"
"I were ve'y stoopid an' ran 'way. Can' even 'member why. Bu' I were comin' back an' this guy comes up 'o me and goes BAM an' punched me in 'e face. An' anover scratched me, so I ran back. I'm a li'le bi' drunk, so can' defend myself." Grantaire slurred, gesturing the actions of his attackers a little too enthusiastically.
"Grantaire, don't ever do that again."
"Bu' why?"
"Because I love you, 'Taire and can't bear it when you're away."
Grantaire started to giggle uncontrollably. "I luv you to." he managed to get out.
Enjolras wanted to kiss Grantaire, but knew that there were more important matters at hand.
"Come on," he said, "Let's get you cleaned up."
I'M SO SORRY FOR BEING SO INACTIVE, PLEASE DONT HATE ME!!! I started my GCSE's this year (for those of you who don't know, they are important exams where I live) and I've had so much homework I haven't had much time to do anything else. It's probably going to be like this for a while and I apologise for that, but I will try to post as often as I can. Thank you so much for reading and for your patience but I hope you enjoyed!
