Wirt's head turned towards the door, and (y/n) perked up as the it opened and a feminine figure stepped in. "Hey mom! Funny thing, I met these two boys in the woods, and they're really lost, so I thought maybe just one night they could stay here?" (y/n) asked. Her mother squinted and Wirt and his brother. "The older one isnt sleeping in the same room as you." She said. "Th-thank you ma'am! I-I'm Wirt, by the way, and this is my little brother Greg." Wirt motioned to greg, who was nervously hiding mr. President in the kettle on his head. "Hi miss!" He said with a bright smile. "Ok, well I'm going to my room, so I'll be there if you need anything." With that, her mother walked off. As soon as she shut the door to her room, (y/n) walked out of the living room, motioning for the boys to follow. "I'm guessing you two are pretty hungry, hm?" She asked, stopping in the kitchen. Greg shifted his weight forwards on his feet, bouncing lightly in excitement. "Yeah!" He chimed, his smile growing wide and his frog peeking out from under Greg's kettle at the word food. "Sure! I mean if that's ok with you." Wirt said, rubbing his arm and half-smiling at (y/n). She nodded and opened the pantry, scanning the rows. "Hm..." After a few seconds, she pulled out a few things and set them on the counter. "Anything that's still in the pantry is fine, just don't eat too much." The boys both walked to the pantry and looked it over before pulling a small snack out and sitting at the table. "So (y/n)," Wirt began, fiddling with the packaging of his food. "Where are we? Why are we here? How do we get home?" He asked. (y/n) knew the answer to two of those questions all too well. But as for how to get home, she had no idea. Part of (y/n) was glad that neither of them knew how to escape. She felt a small glimmer of hope that the two half-brothers could stay here with her forever. The other part of her felt horrible that she hoped they would give up all hope in seeing their family once more just to stay with her. "W-well...good questions! This is the Unknown, and it's a lot farther from home than you think. You see, it's basically a...well, technically it's...um...ok so your here because you, well the Unknown is..." (y/n) continued to ramble, restarting her sentence in a different way, rather just getting to the point. "(y/n), are you okay?" Wirt asked, lifting an eyebrow. "Huh? Oh! Yeah! It's just that...well, we should talk about this in private." She replied, tilting her head towards Greg, who was pigging out with his frog. Before Wirt could react, she grabbed his wrist and hurriedly pulled him into the hallway. She leaned closer, her eyes glinted with concern and regret, though Wirt had no idea why. She glanced around before coming nose to nose with the clueless boy, ignoring the blush dusting the both of their faces. "Wirt, the Unknown is a separate plane between life and death. Basically, in the real modern world you live in, you're still wherever you left off before you came, which can only be a near death situation if you find yourself here, and if you stay her to long, and/or end up living here, you'll end up trapped here forever, and the real you is going to die."
