Greg looked up at Wirt as he ate, taking note of the stressed look on his face. "What's wrong, Wirt?" He asked, smiling up at him. "Nothing, Greg." Wirt mumbled, picking at his food. We could die if we dont hurry. Wirt thought. What if we're already out of time? Panicked by his own thoughts, Wirt stood up. "Y-you know what? I'm not hungry anymore. Have this, Greg." He said, pushing his food to Greg and rushing for the room he saw (y/n) enter, but as he entered the hallway to his left, a figure collided with him, sending both him and the anonymous person backwards. "Ow! Sorry, Wirt! I was just coming to get you!" (y/n)'s voice rang as Wirt rubbed his head. Opening his eyes, he saw her standing back up and brushing herself off. "ohmygosh! I'm so sorry (y/n)! I had no idea you we-" "Wirt, it's fine!" (y/n) cut Wirt's apology off and offered a hand, which he took, and pulled him up. "W-well thanks for helping me up, at least." Wirt said, rubbing his arm and awkwardly smiling. (y/n)'s face tinted with pink. "Oh! N-no problem!" The two smiled at eachother. Wirt took a single step forwards, and the two slowly shuffled closer to each other when at the same time, they shook their heads and backed away from eachother. "S-so-sorry Wirt! I-I was j-just thinking a-and I di-didnt realize what i was doing! I-it was involuntary, I swear!" (y/n) stuttered, pushing her bangs back and letting them fall forwards again. Wirt shyly chuckled. "Don't sweat it, (y/n)! It happens to us all, trust me!" He said rubbing his neck, a blush spreading quickly across his face. (y/n) nodded, blushing darker than Wirt himself, though before, he never thought it was possible. Usually, Wirt would be the one getting the most flustered. Plus, (y/n) seemed really confident. She wouldn't usually get embarrassed or concerned by what another would think of her as far he knew. "S-so I got everything ready. I'll help you guys for a while, but then I'll have to go home...sound good?" She asked, cracking a smile. Wirt smiled back. "y-yeah.." he said. (y/n) looked down a little, an awkward silence falling over the two. She glanced up at him before immediately looking back down. "Wirt! (y/n)! Guess what?" Greg burst from the kitchen. "Yeah?" Wirt asked. (y/n) turned to Greg, keeping her mouth shut. "Oreo and Benjamin Franklin are cuddling! They're friends! Cat and a frog, couple of the year!" He cheered. "Oh cool." Wirt said with a small smile. "Awww!" (y/n) awed, looking at the two smaller animals together. The three of them looked over Oreo and Mr. president as they snuggled. Wirt snuck a glance at (y/n), and looked back at her a few seconds later when their eyes met. Wirt blushed and looked away, (y/n) doing the same. "S-so uh..." She trailed, glancing out the window. "It's getting dark. We should probably get to bed so we can leave early tomorrow morning, hm? Sounds good to me you can sleep on the couch since my mom said we can't be in the same room. Greg, you can stay in my room or with Wirt. If you get hungry, you can eat something alright sounds good. Goodnight Wirt. Night Greg." She said quickly, rushing to her room before either of the boys could say a thing. "...night.." Wirt said, staring after her before shuffling to the couch and getting himself comfortable. He stared into space, millions of thoughts running through his head. Is anyone worried? Are Greg and I going to die? Does (y/n) like me? Suddenly, a thought hit him hard like an arrow to the knee. When we leave, will (y/n) be able to come with us? Or will she have to stay here?
