(y/n)'s eyes shot open as she quickly sat up, looking around. The sun had just risen, and yet, they should have left hours ago. she looked around, still out back, Wirt rubbing his head and sitting up besides her. "Hm?" He asked groggily, rubbing his eyes and glancing around. (y/n) blushed furiously, realizing they had fallen asleep together under the warmth of his cape. "Oh my gosh! Wirt! I-I didn't realize I was falling asleep! I-I'm so sorry! I-" "(y/n), calm down. I didn't realize either. Lets just get ready and go." Wirt interrupted, standing up and putting his cape on. "Y-yeah.." (y/n) said, standing up and running inside. "I'm gonna change, go get Greg up." She instructed, shutting the door to her room. Wirt did as she told, getting Greg up and ready. After a few minutes, (y/n) stepped back out wearing knee length boots, blue jeans, a white tank top, and a (f/c) hoodie. "Alright let's go, we're late." She said, walking quickly to the door and opening it for Wirt and Greg. Wirt nodded in thanks as he passed by, greg following quickly behind. "So," Wirt asked when they got a mile or so into the forest. "How are we going to get home?" He asked, looking at (y/n), who was walking a few feet ahead of the brothers. "Good question. A good freind of mine-- the tavern keeper. she knows most people in the unknown, so we've gotta find her." She breifly explained. "So were finding someone to find someone? Wont that take like...forever?" Wirt asked, tilting his head. "That's why I wanted to go before sunrise." (y/n) muttered in reply. "Aw don't worry, (y/n)!" Greg, who had caught up with her chirped, lightly nudging her arm. "Anything is possible if you set your mind to it!" He said smiling, his frog ribbiting in agreement. "De wanai subete no mono..." She said in reply, though she was well aware the boys probably didn't know what she was saying. "You know Japanese?" Wirt asked, causing her to perk up. "Yeah! Do you?" She asked. "A little bit, yeah!" He said with a smile. the three continued to chat as they walked through the winding paths of the forest until it began to get dark. looking at the sky, (y/n) sighed. "I gotta head home, guys..stay on the trail until you find a tavern, and tell the tavernkeeper i sent you and you're trying to get home. she should help you from there..bye.." (y/n) said, pulling wirt and greg into her arms and hugging them tightly before letting go and waving sadly. Wirt and Greg murmured their farewell and began walking down the path. I love you.. (y/n) thought as she stared after Wirt, until finally, he disappeared from sight. when she could no longer see him, she turned to walk home slowly. "What's got you in the dumps?" A high voice asked from above. (y/n) looked up to see a bluebird, flapping her wings above her. nothing new in the unknown. "Oh, uh..there are these two boys, Wirt and Greg, that i met. you see, they're trying to get home, and I just said goodbye after giving them directions to someone who might just be able to help. I guess i just dont want to see them go..." she explained, walking and looking up at the bird gliding above her. "hm. you know, i know a way that's sure to get them home! plus, you can see them again, garunteed!" Beatrice chirped. "Really? how?" (y/n) asked, a smile forming on her face. "I'll follow those boys and take them to Adelaide of the pasture. meet me there in two days, and you'll be able to see them one last time. got it?" Beatrice instructed. "Where is she?" (y/n) asked, cocking her head to the side. "Do you have a map?" Beatrice asked, perching on her shoulder. (y/n) nodded, pulling one out of her pocket and unfolding it. "There." Beatrice said, resting a wing on a large green patch, representing a pasture, (y/n) assumed. "Be there in two days time. I'll handle the rest." She said, lifting herself from (y/n)'s shoulder and flying in the direction the boys went. "Alright!" (y/n) called, waving after Beatrice. "Thank you so much, uhh.." she trailed. "the name's Beatrice! and dont worry about it, uhh.." "y/n)!" "right! don't worry about it!" With that, beatrice dissapeared into the trees, leaving (y/n) on her own. she continued down her path home to pack food, more clothes, etc. for the trip. then, she'd be off to see Wirt and Greg one last time.

oh, we're going to the pasture to meet Adelaide and ask her if she has a way to send us back where we came from...
