Chapter 9 : Dried Flowers

"Look Ashely.. I don't give such 1% attention to what I'm receiving ok? Maybe it's just a fan or a reporter or somewhat na gusto lang mang good time. Don't make it an issue. If ever naman na lumabas sa media ang tungkol sa secret marriage namen ni Zoe, so be it. Doon din naman pupunta ang lahat. It's better kung magpapahinga ka. For sure kids will be happy to see you after they wake up."

I didn't even get a sleep that night... Usually, hindi na talaga ako nakakatulog kapag gabi pero iba talaga ang kutob ko sa envelope na yun. I know it was not just it.

Since I get back to office, hindi nawala sa isip ko ang sinabe ni Kuya na madalas din siyang makatanggap ng mga bagay galing sa hindi niya kilalang tao. Kung totoong iisa lang ang taong nagpapadala nun, why this person keeps bothering us? I should find out as soon as possible dahil habang tumatagal, pakiramdam ko may hindi magandang mangyayari.

"Why don't you take some rest?" napalingon ako kay Kyle. It's been two weeks since I visited the house and the kids. He called me to have some coffee with him. Pumayag na ako dahil sa nabasa kong article na may dine-date siyang isang idol. "It seems something is bothering you.. May problema ba sa trabaho?"

"Yes... And it's Dale."

He laugh. "So Gio was right. Dale is working with you. Maybe it's fate, isn't it?"

"Is it funny?" I rolled my eyes.. "Kunwari hindi alam pero.. Kyle, I know you already know this before he started working."

"Dale is suppose to be in our hospital as a surgeon.. But he himself turned down the offer and decided to work as a profiler but I didn't know na sa station niyo siya ma a-assign. Hindi ko nga din inaasahan na magiging medical examiner siya doon."

"So what's about the article?" pag-iiba ko ng usapan. Biglang nawala ang mga ngiti ni Kyle and then he cross her legs. "Is it true? Why don't you just be with Sammy again?"

"What?!" he clears his throat. Parang gusto pa niyang tumawa. "Hindi naman naging kami diba? And we can't be together. May bagay kaming hindi mapagkasunduan."

"So who the hell is she?"

"Hey watch your mouth.. Ok, we're not dating. we're just friends at na misunderstood lang ng mga tao ang issue na yun. She's a good friend and you exactly know her pero hindi mo na dapat malaman ang pangalan. Kilala na kita e."

"Kahit hindi mo sabihin, malalaman ko din kung sino siya. So how's Irene doing?"

"Mr. Lee gave them a break kaya nasa bahay siya... Thanks to her dahil may magbabantay sa dalawang bata. They also missed her." halata sa mukha ni Kyle namarami itong iniisip. "Bakit ba hindi ka nalang mag stay sa bahay para mas makasama mo sila? Or hindi kaya isama mo sila."

"What do you mean?"

"Ashely... Lumalaki na sila at nagkakaisip at habang nangyayari yun, they keep asking me about their Dad. One time I saw Darren trying to open your room. I know and I understand kung bakit ayaw mong sabihin sa mga bata na si Dale ang Daddy nila pero as I watched them playing the last time visit the house parang gusto ko ng sabihin kay Dale."

"Wag mong gagawin yun Kyle. This is not the right time for both of them to know."

"Alam ko.. So why don't you let the kids to leave with you kung ayaw mong mag stay sa bahay? Besides, I'm planning to get my own house next year."

"Why?"

"We've grown already at may kanya-kanya na tayong buhay. Ate Jessica is busy with her business as well as Kuya Clyde. He's married already. And you? You have the kids..."

I know what is Kyle talking about.. Lagi niyang sinasabe na mag-isa lang siya at walang umaalala sa kanya, that's the reason why I left the kids to him. Pero mukhang iba na ang gustong mangyari ni Kyle sa buhay niya.
