Reika’s POV

Reika couldn’t believe her eyes. Was this all just a bad dream? Was she being delirious now? Why is this all happening to her?

She wanted to get away. She doesn’t want them to know that she was there. But her feet were refusing to move. She was glued to the spot. She can feel the tears willing to fall down now.

But just when the first set of tears fell, a hand covered her eyes. His other arm wrapped gently around her and pulled her close.

“Let’s go, Reika-chan. Stop hurting yourself like this.” Donghae’s soothing voice said to her. He guided her down from the rooftop and into a room on the next floor. He made her sit down on a chair and then he sat opposite of her. She looked down on the floor and covered her eyes because the tears just won’t stop falling.

Donghae delicately removed her hands and wiped her tears. “It’s alright. Just let it all out and I’ll wipe them all away.” He wrapped his arms around her.

Reika couldn’t help herself anymore so she sobbed into Donghae’s chest. It was like déjà vu. The last time she cried like this, it was because of the same person and this was the same guy who was comforting her.

“I’m so stupid.” She said, her voice shaking.

“Sssshhh.. you’re the smartest person I know so don’t say that. The jerk that made you cry is the stupid one.”

“Why does it hurt a million times more than before? Why is it like this? I don’t really understand.” She tried to look into Donghae’s face but her eyes were blurry from the tears.

“You love Kyuhyun that much that’s why it hurts like that.” He answered in a bitter tone.

She shook her head. “I’m just tired from all of this. Why did I ever let myself fall so deeply for that creep?  Why is he doing this to me?”

“I don’t know, Reika-chan. But I wish I knew.”

She silently cried for a few moments and took a deep breath. She hated being this pathetic. It was not like her. “Why were you there, Donghae?” She asked him after she composed herself. A little.

“I had a bad feeling so I followed you.” She eyed him suspiciously. “Okay. I was curious so I followed you. I want to see for myself how things will turn out even if I might get hurt. But what I saw back there wasn’t what I expected.”

“Thank you.” She said quietly. She didn’t want to elaborate the scene any further. Her heart was too stressed out already.

“I can’t stand seeing you like this anymore. I gave him a lot of chances already but it looks like he just wasted it. I’m not going to let you get hurt any further. Maybe it’s my turn to be selfish now.” He lifted up her chin. “I’m going to take you back. I’ll make sure you fall for me again and make you forget about him. I’ll protect you and I’ll never ever make you cry like this again.” Donghae said with determination while looking intently at her eyes. “Will you give us a chance, Reika?”
