Chapter 38
Reika's POV
Reika stared out into the dark sea. The waves were calm and the night was silent. She was sitting to where she found Donghae earlier that day. She snuck out quietly from the hall. She can't stand seeing Kyuhyun and Victoria together anymore. She was not a masochist. But it was strange that she didn't feel like crying.
"Reika!" She heard someone running towards her. It was kind of surprising that Donghae found her easily. Normally, there was someone else who would always find her first. But he's with someone else now.
"Shouldn't you be enjoying the party?" Reika asked him when he got close.
"Screw the party. You're more important than anything else. Are you alright, Reika? You just disappeared all of a sudden."
"I'm fine. I just wanted some air. You don't need to make such a fuss about it." Reika brought back her gaze to the sea.
Donghae sat beside her. "I'll go talk to Kyuhyun later."
"For what?"
"To know why he did that. It was so obvious to everyone that the song was for you. I don't know why Vic had the wrong idea."
"There's no need. There was no mistake with that. Those two were bound to be together, anyway."
"But what about you, Reika? Don't tell me you're alright with this? How can you act all calm about this?" Donghae asked frustratedly.
"It's just not meant to be. Maybe I'll have a check-up tomorrow. I think I just imagined those things with Kyuhyun." He was messing around like usual. And she was so stupid to believe it's true.
"You didn't imagine those things. He told me personally that he has feelings for you. I know Kyuhyun is serious with you. Why don't you ask him directly?"
Reika didn't answer. She was tired from all of it now.
"Reika, go talk to him now. He needs to give you an explanation."
"I don't want to." She said quietly.
