I needed to stop worrying about Dougie, so I hung out with Annemarie. Michelle was busy studying for a test the next day. “So, you fake broke up Dougie?” Annemarie asked.

I nodded, “It was either that or move back to New York… Which would you rather have?” The answer was clear.

“That means that in public, you two can’t hang out.” She pointed out.

“Why not? People who are no longer dating can be friends, can’t they?” I questioned.

Annemarie shrugged her shoulders, “I suppose… It hasn’t happened with any of my boyfriends. But with you and Dougie, it could slide. The only thing is you can’t show affection to him… That’ll raise a lot of eyebrows.” She told me.

I nodded, “I wasn’t planning on showing affection to Dougie in public… We never did in the first place, so why start now?”

Annemarie smiled, “You two are the cutest couple ever!” She yelled.

I started to blush, “You should have seen us in the car today… Dougie wouldn’t stop telling me how much he loved me; and I wouldn’t stop telling him how much I loved him. Fake breaking up with him was the hardest thing I ever did.”

“Do you think you did good?”

“Did I do good? Yes. Did Dougie good good… No. He did crazy amazing! He seriously let a tear fall.” Annemarie’s mouth dropped in surprise. “Forget being a hockey player… He’s the new Leo DiCaprio.” I stated.

Annemarie laughed and rolled her eyes, “Dougie might be good. But not ‘Titanic’ good.” She joked.

I laughed this time, “That was a good movie,” I agreed. My phone buzzed, I picked it up and looked at the text I received.

“What’s up?” Annemarie asked.

“I gotta go home; my uncle has something to tell me.”

Annemarie groaned, “When we start to get into the good topics, you have to go! You’ll fill me in on all the details of what you and Dougie did in St. Catherine’s.” She told me.

“All the details?” I smirked.

“Yes.”

“You might want to change your mind. Especially what Dougie and I did on Sunday morning.” I said.

She blinked, “Did you two do what I think you two did?” Annemarie inquired.

I nodded as I bit my lower lip, “We did… It was amazing. From what I can remember, I maybe had a bit too much to drink.” Annemarie laughed.

Annemarie got up from the ground and shooed me out of her house, “Get going… You don’t want your uncle to be waiting. Fill me in the details later.” I nodded and waved before I left the house.

I un-locked the front door and walked into my house. My uncle was sitting in a couch in the living room. “What’s up?” I asked.

“Go upstairs.” He told me without any further directions.

I walked upstairs, “Now go into your room.” I walked into my room the first thing I saw was a person on my bed. It took me a second to realize that it was my cousin, Talia. She’s been in Sarnia for the past couple of years, to focus on her gymnastics career. She left and I came. My uncle still hasn’t spent a year without a woman in the house.

She lived with her mother, Alicia and her brother, Cameron.  My uncle and aunt are still together, Alicia just is living up in Sarnia; basically until Talia retires from gymnastics. That may be a while. I ran towards her and swung my arms around her, “Talia!” I yelled.
