I sat up in my bed and stretched, why was I so stiff?  I rubbed my eyes and opened them than something donned me… I wasn’t in my bed or my room. I looked beside me and saw a girl sleeping next to me; with her chest bare. That means only one thing: I picked up a bar babe.

If my mom found out… I won’t see tomorrow. I needed to get out of here and find my way home. I leisurely scooted off of the mattress. I looked all over the floor for my boxers, I couldn’t find them anywhere. “Looking for these?” I looked over and Ella, in her hands were my boxers.

“Yeah, if you would be so kind to give them to me right now… that would be excellent,” I smiled at her.

Ella didn’t throw them at me; she continued to hold them on her hand. “Yeah, if you would be so kind to not be my one-night stand… that would be excellent,” she said.

“Well, that’s what happens when you go to a club alone and talk to a guy,” I told her.

“Do you really think I went to the club to get a one-night stand?”

“Well, that is what most people do,” I stated.

Ella dropped my boxers on her bed and raised her eyebrow. “I like you, Hamilton.” We both began to stare at each other, that’s when I began to fell un-comfortable and moved my hands over my crotch. “I saw you naked last night… are you seriously being insecure now?” she asked.

“My personality changes when I’m sober and drunk,” I admitted.

“You’re still cute either way.”

My face started to heat up. “Thank you.”

Ella grabbed onto my boxers and hit me square in the chest with them. “I guess I can’t keep you here forever. I should probably get you home,” she told me.

I kneeled and grabbed onto my boxers. I slipped them on while she watched me. I shrugged my shoulders. “I could stay here for a bit,” I said. I walked towards her bed and lay down on it. Ella shuffled closer to me and draped her arm over my waist. She set her head against my side. I rested my hand on her back.

It felt wrong being naked in bed with another woman other than Olivia. But I needed to get over her one way or another. “Do you want to go on a date today?” I asked Ella.

She looked up at me and furrowed her eyebrow. “You want to date me?” she asked.

“I don’t see anything wrong with you,” I replied she began to smile. “After all, you did say you didn’t want me to be your one-night stand. This is the best compromise I could think of,” I told her.

She nodded her head. “Sure, I’ll go on a date with you,” she accepted. I smiled and dropped my head, making my lips meet hers. She moved and sat on my lap; I ran my hand up her side and stopped at her cheek. I began to deepen the kiss then a phone rang in the room. Céline Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” began to play.  Ryan was calling me.

I sighed. Ella got off my lap and sat on her bed. I walked over to my pants where my phone was in the back pocket. “You have Céline Dion as your ringtone?” Ella questioned.

I located my phone and pulled it out of the pocket. “Ryan took my phone and put that as his ringtone. I haven’t changed it after three months,” I explained.

I accepted Ryan’s call and placed the phone up against my ear. “Dude, where are you? Your mom is having a heart attack because she has no clue where you are!” he yelled.

“I’m not at home, I can tell you that,” I joked.

Ryan made a strange sound. “No shit Dougie!” I began to smile. “You need to come home before your mom has a real heart attack,” he told me.
