"We need to talk," she told me. Of course she would be down here; of course she was going to come talk to me. Why wouldn't she? She most likely knows the fight was about her and that I can't play well because she is on my mind constantly. A question pops into my head. One that I haven't found the answer to since I stepped foot into this arena.
"Why are you here with Adam?" I asked her.
"That's why I need to talk to you." She glanced down the hallway then back up at me. "Can I come inside?"
I held the wide enough for her to walk through. She sauntered into the room, when she stopped in the middle of the room, I closed the door. "What do you need to tell me?" I questioned.
"I regret it," she confessed.
Cocking my eyebrow I asked, "Regret what?"
Her gaze fell down to her hands and she fidgeted with the end of her shirt. "The kiss," she mumbled so quietly I just caught her words.
"Why did you do it, Olivia?" I inquired.
She looked up at me with guilt in her eyes; she licked her lips while she shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. I genuinely don't know. Something came over me and I just... I just gave in and I regret it, Dougie," she enlightened.
"Whether or not you regret it, you still came here with Adam," I pointed out.
"That was just so I could see you," she alleged.
Things didn't add up. If she actually came to see me, then why was she kissing and flirting Adam? "Or so you say."
The look on Olivia's face was a lot different than when she first stepped into the change room. "What is that supposed to mean?" Olivia questioned.
"C'mon, we both know you didn't come down here to see me. It was just a way to make me jealous by acting all cute with Adam," I told her. Whether it was the truth or not, it felt like the right thing to say because it had to be true. Why else would she go from Boston to Sudbury for no reason?
The look on Olivia's face clearly showed her feelings. Hurt. "Dougie, do you seriously think I would do that?" she questioned.
Truthfully, I didn't know anymore. "From what I heard from Ryan, I believe that completely," I said.
Olivia crossed her arms over her chest and stuck out one of her hips. "And what did Ryan tell you?"
"He said he saw you and Adam making out as he passed you two." Olivia's shot open when I mentioned Adam. "Did you regret that kiss too?" I asked taking a step towards her, things just started to get interesting.
Olivia no longer had a hurt expression on her face. Now, her face looked amused and eager. She plodded a step towards me. "You know what I find interesting?" I raised my eyebrows hoping for an answer. She took another step towards me. "The fact that you got a girlfriend four days after you broke-up with me," she expressed.
"So what if I did? Unlike you, I had a reason to get a new girlfriend," I told her.
She unfolded her arms and set them against her sides. "A reason? Which is?"
"Which is," I took another step towards Olivia, "that I saw my girlfriend; the one I loved so deeply, the one I thought I would be with forever, kissing another man. And that man would be my future teammate and possible defensive partner. Not to mention that he was seven years older than her. Do you know how I felt about you doing that? Do you?" I yelled.
