Summer flew by, school came. The first year of University was... well, nerve-wracking. I did have my best friends by my side the whole way. It was just that it felt like the first year of high school. I was the tiny fish in the midst of the sharks. But I got through the first half of school... Almost.

Now, I wasn't in Boston or at University. I was in Edmonton. Why am I in Edmonton? Well, to watch my un-official boyfriend play at the World Juniors that's why; I had to just come and watch... Dougie begged me.

Dougie began to text me in October. Since then, we've been keeping close connection to one another. Dougie was so excited when he got called to the selection camp. He was even more excited when Dougie told me he got a spot on the team. Then, I had to beg my uncle for tickets.

I persuaded him saying it would be a good chance to "see how he's doing". Clearly, my uncle had no idea that we're kind of seeing each other. I was getting ready to watch the first game that Dougie was playing. It was against Finland; the opening game, might I add.

As the World Juniors were in Canada, the Canadian crowd was going to go crazy for the team. I'm going to join them. I was going to the arena alone; my uncle might meet up with me. I'm not too sure yet. If we meet up, that's not a bad thing. But I kind of don't want him to come. Truth be told, I want to have my date with Dougie... soon.

I left my hotel and caught a cab to Rexall Place. I quickly texted Dougie went I arrived. 'Dougie I'm here.' I let the security scan my week pass. I was planning on staying here for the whole time; I stuck my phone in my back pocket as I got a Coca-Cola and walked to my seat.

My buzzed and I pulled it out. 'I see you'. I looked out to the ice and saw Dougie in the tunnel; he wasn't in his equipment. 'Dougie, get in your equipment!' I angrily texted. A smirk was plastered on his face. He waved to me before he left the tunnel and took a right.

Dougie and I continued to text despite the fact that he was trying to change into his equipment. Soon after, the teams came out for warm-ups. Dougie would always look up at me after he took a shot at the net; it started giving me butterflies in my stomach.

The game quickly started after that. The periods flew by, which was great for me... I couldn't wait to see Dougie after the game. The game ended in a victory for Canada; Dougie was going to be in a great mood. 'Wait for me by our bench,' he texted me.

I vaulted myself up from my chair and started to walk towards Team Canada's bench. I sat down on one of the chairs and waited. "Dougs! The exit is this way!" someone yelled through the tunnel.

"I'm not taking the exit." A familiar voice stated. I smiled.

I saw Dougie walk through the tunnel and greet me. "Even this far up... Your height still intimidates me," I joked. I got up from my chair and leaned over the railing.

He laughed. "Move I'm coming up there." He told me. I took a couple steps away from the railing. Dougie gripped his hands onto the railing; he pulled himself up, with his biceps flexing. Dougie stepped on the other side of the railing and he stop in front of me.

"Why aren't you with your teammates? You should go out and celebrate." I told him.

"I will," he assured me. "With you," he added. A smile crept its way up to my face.

"As in a date?"

"It's about time, right?"

"Where to, Dougie?" I asked.

Dougie started to think, "I'm pretty hungry... How about Subway?" he inquired.

"Subway?" Dougie nodded. "Are they even open this late?" I asked.

Dougie nodded, "I went there with my friends the first night we came here. We just wanted some late night food, we found a Subway... It was really good." He explained.

Subway was always good... You can't complain about that. "I'd love to go on a date with you... If you asked me properly." I told him.

Dougie laughed and got down on one knee. "Olivia, will you go on a date with me?" he asked.

I laughed. "Of course I would, Dougie." He got up from his knee and kissed me delicately. He held me from the waist and pulled away.

"Let's go," he decided. I grabbed onto Dougie's hand as we walked up the stairs and towards the exit. We took a cab to the nearest Subway and went in. The place was deserted. We walked towards the counter and ordered. We sat down in a booth and began to eat our subs.

"How can you eat that?" questioned Dougie.

I looked up at him, "It's a sub... How can I not eat it?"

He gave my sub a dirty look, "It's just so... so... bland." He stated. "Bland and boring."

"I always make my sub like this. Why change it now?" My sub was a foot-long from Italian bread, cheddar cheese, ham, toasted, and had tomatoes. I'm never going to change it.

"Try something new... like mine," he suggested.

"That's so gross... You have basically everything on there." I said. I crinkled my nose in disgust.

"It's good," he alleged. "Trust me."

"I have trust issues when it comes food." I stated.

Dougie's phone buzzed as he took a bit of his sub. He grabbed his phone out of pocket and took it out. He tapped on the screen a few times until his eyes moved across the screen. Dougie swallowed his sub and looked at me, "We have to get going." He told me.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Don's wondering where I am... My teammates are stalling for me but I need to get back as soon as possible. So I have to get you back to your hotel," he explained.

"You don't have to take me to my hotel... I can get there myself, trust me." I expressed.

He shook his head, "I'm taking you to your hotel." He told me.

We left Subway in a hurry and go a cab to my hotel; we quickly went up to my floor. I found my room key and pushed it into the lock; I turned it, opening the door. I turned back to Dougie and smiled.

Dougie was already smiling back at me. He slipped his hands onto my waist. I swung my arms around his neck and pulled him close to me. Of course, I was too short for him, so he had to lift me a bit. I pressed my forehead to Dougie's; he brought his lips to mine.

The kiss was short but hot. Dougie pulled away, probably after he remembered that he had somewhere to be. He pulled away and set me back onto the ground, "I'll see you tomorrow." He stated.

"Tomorrow," I smiled.

Dougie walked away back down the hallway, I watched him. He walked into the elevator and stared back at me. I waved at him and he waved back before the elevator doors closed.

I held onto the doorknob to my room; I couldn't stop smiling or quietly laughing. That was until I saw a pair of familiar eyes down the hallway. Why is he here?
