Taylor's POV

After a about a month, things were back to normal. The girls were back in school, and I was back in rehearsal. It was early November, and it was starting to get cold. I threw on a black dress, with maroon tights, oxford heels and my coat and went to go pick up the girls.

"Hey Annie-Bannie!" I said, opening my arms.

And ran into them, and I pulled her into a hug.

"How was school?" I said moving my head so I could look at her.

"Good," she said, her blue eyes looking into mine.

I quickly talked to Annie's teacher, while she chatted with her friend. Soon, I put her coat and mittens on, and we headed out to go pick up Rose.

We walked the 5 blocks, luckily avoiding the paparazzi. I moved closer to Annie, even though she was holding my hand, just to make sure nothing bad happened. We waited outside the big doors with all the other parents, until kids started to spill out. I spotted Rose in the crowd. Her head was down and she had sadness written all over her face.

Must've just been a bad day
I think to myself, trying to shed light on the situation.

"Rose!" I say waving my hand so she can spot us.

She lifts her head up and walks over to us.

"Hey cutie, how was-"

I was cut of by Rose immediately going to hug her sister, and act she doesn't normally do.

I stood in awe as they hugged.

"Hey!" I said trying to perk up the mood. "Why don't we go get some hot chocolate?!"

Annie who was still holding my hand pulled away from Rose with a big smile on her face.

"YEAH!" She exclaimed.

"Rose?" I asked, waiting for an answer.

She shrugged.

"Okay, well lets go find a place where we can get some."

I take their hands, and we start to walk around.

I spot this cute little cafe that I've been to once our twice and we go in. I'm immediately hit with the essence of cookies, coffee and coziness. We order our drinks, and walk up stairs to the sitting area. We grab a small circular table right next to a window, with a great view of the city. We sit down and wait for our drinks.

"So Rosie, I was wondering if maybe you would want to have a sleepover at our apartment this weekend! You could invite all your friends, and you could make pizza, watch-"

"No."

I didn't know what to say. I looked over at Rose who was sitting across from me. Her eyes were fixated on her feet. I looked at Annie and she shrugged her shoulders, indicating that she didn't know what was wrong.

A nice man brought our drinks up. The coffee I got had one of those cool designs on it, and the girls hot chocolates had a TON of whipped cream on them. He even brought us some "on the house" cookies. Perks of being famous right there.

Annie got excited when she saw the hot chocolate, and Rose perked up too. I made sure to snap a pic of them drinking there hot chocolate.

@taylorswift: the struggle when the amount of whipped cream is bigger than your face.

I uploaded it and looked up. Both of the girls had whipped cream all over them. I laughed and handed them some napkins.

After our little snack, we headed home.

We walked through the front door and took our jackets and shoes off. Both of the girls had red ears and noses because of the cold. Annie started to sing "Rudolph the Red Nose Rain Deer" because of that, and soon we were having and epic dance party.

When the dance party ended, I went to make dinner, and the girls sat at the island. Rose did her homework, and Annie colored.

"Momma?" Asked Annie.

"Yeah?" I said turning around from my position at the stove, so I could look at her.

"What's for dinner?"

"Chicken stir-fry!"

"Yum!"

I smiled at her adorableness, and went back to my cooking. Soon, the food was done, and I turned back to the girls. Rose was now reading and Annie was still drawing.

"How was the homework?" I asked Rose.

"Easy," she replied. She put her book down, and handed me the homework for me to check.

Rose was in advanced math, and they were learning 4th grade math in 2nd grade. What can I say? I'm a proud mama!

"Correct, correct, correct..." I said scanning the page.

"Crushed it!" I said putting the paper down and giving her a high five.

Rose put her homework away, and Annie put her coloring things back in her room, and we sat down to eat dinner.

While we were eating, my phone went off.

It was from Rose's school.

I decided in that moment that this was probably something important, excused myself and walked into the other room.

"Hello?"

"Hi! This is Ms. McGarry calling from Lincoln elementary school. Is this Taylor Swift, mother of Rose Swift?"

"Yes it is! Hi Ms. Mcgarry, how are you tonight?"

"Good, good. Sorry if I'm interrupting something, there's just something that I thought you should know."

"Oh no problem at all. What is it? Is Rose okay?"

"That's the thing. I'm not sure. She comes into school very happy and bright, and as the day progresses, she just seems to get sadder and sadder. I think I caught her crying in class today. I told her to go out side and take a deep breath but she swore she was fine. I don't know if there are some kids picking on her, or if there's something going on at home...?"

"Uh wow, this is the first I'm hearing of this. You know, now that you mention it, when I picked her up today, she did seem sad. Nothing's going on at home, maybe she's having a tough time making friends?"

"That's what I thought too. I'll try to help her out with that, maybe do a group project in class."

"That sounds great! Yeah, and I'll talk to Rose, I'm sure she was just having a bad day."

"I sure hope so, she's such a lovely little girl."

"Thank you!"

"Your most certainly welcome! Okay well I hate to keep you busy, so have a good rest of your evening."

"You to Ms. McGarry, and thank you for letting me know."

"Of course!"

"Bye!"

"Bye."

I hung up and slid my phone back into my dress pocket. I walked to back to where the dinning room was and I stood in the doorway. I saw Annie and Rose laughing hysterically and chatting away.

How could such a happy little girl, have so much pain?
