Chapter 30

Thomas was being dragged across the glade floor and almost at the doors. Two gladers at each of his sides. He was roughly thrown to the ground, and almost went head first into the stone. Teresa was standing not too far beside him, with her hands tied up. "This is a waste," said Gally. Before Gally could say anything more, Teresa blurted out, "You think banishing us is going to solve anything?", she said. "No," responded Gally, "This isn't a banishing, it's an offering." As is on cue the glader holding Teresa put her to a stake and started tying her. There was another stake, which Thomas assumed was for him. "Gally!", she shouted, "What are you doing?" "You really think I'm gonna let Thomas back into the maze after what he's done?", asked Gally, "After you're both gone everything will go back to the way it was." "Are you guys listening to this? He's crazy," said Teresa. "Shut up," said Gally, "Tie him up," he said. The gladers hesitated at Gally's order. "Did you shanks hear me? I said tie him up!" With that the gladers started to pick him up off of the glade floor. Before they could get him off his feet, he swung a fist around at the glader to his left, who had a wooden pole. He took the pole and swung it at the glader to his right. Thomas looked back at the other gladers behind him, all of his friends were standing with Gally's "crew" down on the ground, except Gally, who had razor sharp knives pointed at him. Thomas's friends moved around towards him, knives still pointed at Gally. "Thomas had his wooden pole pointed at Gally. "Well aren't you full of surprises," said Gally. "Look, we're going in there no matter what," said Thomas, nudging his head towards the maze. "But, you can come with us, anyone who wants to get out of here," he said, lowering his weapon. Several gladers started walking towards him and his friends. Winston, keeper of the blood house, Chuck was still waddling over to the group with supplies, and some other gladers followed. Only about ten stayed behind Gally. "Come with us," said Thomas. There was a long silence until Gally finally said, "Good luck against the Grievers." And with that, the gladers going, set off into the maze.
