An erie darkness came over the gladers. The darkness consumed Thomas, and gave him a chance to think. What was happening? Were they safe? Were all of the Grievers gone? They were in the darkness for a full minute, and that minute felt like an hour to Thomas. Creak creak, light flowed into the small space they were in, and Thomas had to squint until his eyes adjusted to the light. The gladers stood in a blank white and gray hallway, with pipes running along the ceiling. Down at the end of it was a room. The gladers headed down the hallway at a slow pace, prepared for anything that may be thrown their way. The hallway had Windows showing rooms where bodies lay. They had red splattered on them and Thomas knew, they were dead. They kept moving down the hallway until they reached the room and started searching it.
