Chapter 2 Bryce

It begins to darken and it feels like my whole day has gone by so quickly. It's 7:24 PM and I am woken by the ringing of my phone, I force myself to get up and check who it is, the picture of Seth comes up on the screen, I swipe the screen.

"Hello?"

"Bryce I've been calling for the past hour! " he sounds angry.

" I'm so sorry I fell asleep and I didn't—"

" I was worried sick! Next time you need to put attention a because what is something bad happened and You didn't know because you didn't fucking hear your phone!?"

I wait for him to calm down.

" how did it go?" He finally asks.

" I think it went well, he said he'll call back if I got the part!! Did you pick up the kids?"

" I took them out to eat and then to watch a movie, they are a sleep right now, Theo had a hamburger and fries and Trice had a bowl of pasta. After that we went—" he went on.

My head hurts and the only thing that comes to mind is the possibility of getting the part that could change my career. I don't have the idea that I might aswell not get the part.

I listen to Seth with no attention about how funny it was when Trice threw a spaghetti at Theo whilst they were eating because he wouldn't give her a fry.

—" but it was hilarious Theo just looked at her and finally gave up! We missed you though!"

I stay silent.

" honey are you okay?"he asks me with full concern in his voice when he didn't hear my answer after the story.

" hmm? Oh yeah I'm Fine, I'm just really tired!"

" okay? We'll be home in a few minutes." He states.

I hang up the phone and go to the bathroom to start the water. I turn the tap to its highest it can get. I reach for the towel and set it across the sink. I go to get my clothes from the bed and my robe, when I return to the bathroom I turn the tap off. I slip out of the current clothes and get in the hot water. Clearing my mind from all the information from today. I feel my muscles beginning to relax in the water and my body starting to heat up.

I stay in the water for about 10 minutes until I hear the door open and close with several footsteps walking in. From that moment I notice it's Seth and the kids.

There is a cold breeze that I feel come from the door. Seth is standing on the entrance of the bathroom with a peaceful expression on his face, I smile at him and he begins to walk towards me, he hands me a towel and my robe.

"I put the kids to sleep." He tells me.

" did you have fun?" I ask

" I think so, it would have been better if you had come." He says kissing my shoulder.

"Let's go to bed and you can tell me everything about your interview, ok?"

I walk over to the closet door and put my shirt and pants on, I quickly go brush my teeth and walk over to the bed where Seth is already there.

" it went perfect! He was super nice and he told me his pans for filming he mentioned a few spoilers for the movie which I think is good. Overall it went fine." I tell him

He has his eyes closed.

" that's very good honey, I'm glad." He whispers.

I continue talking to him about the the movie and I start to notice that he's not paying attention. I attempt to get his attention so I start kiss him and begin to run down to kiss his neck, then his shoulder. I look up at him, his eyes are still closed and get no reaction from him, lean over to whisper in his ear.

He opens his eyes slightly.

" I am paying attention , I'm really tired and it's been a long day, I just wanted to close my eyes.

"Well it doesn't look like you are paying attention!

"Look, let's just go to bed ok?" He says with irritation in his voice.

I just don't understand him why can't he listen to me, I turn around and reach over to turn off the light. A small tear reaches my eye but I fight it and force myself to sleep.

The room is dark and I can't sleep.

It's 3:57AM and I've been flipping and turning for the past 3 hours. I decide to go downstairs to get a cup of tea.

When I reach the kitchen, the floor is like ice, I turn the lights on and get the water to heat up. I remind myself of the things I need to do. I need to go buy my dress for the golden globes after party, I need to go to the supermarket and go get a haircut.

I get the tea bag ready, I grab the cup from the cupboard.

I pour the hot liquid into my cup and drop the bag in. I wait 7 minutes and start sipping the soothing drink.

I check my phone. It's 5:02AM, I hope for the day to go quickly.

When I reach the top of the stairs I take a look out of the window and I see the sun beginning to peak on the horizon.

I check on the kids, who are sleeping, I close the door and make my way to the bedroom. I lie down next to Seth and attempt to sleep, I feel an arm wrap around me pulling me into a warm embrace. I feel sleep coming on.

"Are you ok? Where did you go?" I hear his raspy voice ask.

" I couldn't sleep so I went downstairs to get a cup of tea. I didn't want to wake you." I reply

He tightens his embrace and I feel warm. He kisses my neck and I fall back to sleep.
