Somewhere in Mars' atmosphere, was a girl named Stella. Gazing in the pitch-black space with blinking stars, she was holding the only communicator to her home-planet. At this time, almost every single time, she had only one person in mind.
Not so long ago, I was there with you. Now, I'm light-years away and as I travel farther and farther away from you, my messages take longer and longer to reach you.
Her eyes were full of longing as if she has been there in a very long time. The screen of the communicator she was holding displayed:

?Hey Maxon, how are you? I'm on Mars now. We got here yesterday. I got to fly over Mt. Olympus, the Aurora Valley and the tarsian ruins are so much bigger than I've ever imagined! What they taught in school wasn't even close! I'll start training for real tomorrow. Wish me luck! And good luck to you too.?
Somewhere on Earth, was a boy named Maxon, who was waiting for her return. He held a magazine that displayed the Aurora Valley, where Stella had just been to. "She saw this with her own eyes. Incredible," he said looking up in the sky watching the clouds passed by.
Earth 2204
"I see we have a little time left today," said an old teacher standing in front of a classroom. Holding his glasses down while his eyebrows were arched, he looked around to see if everyone was listening to him. Satisfied, he continued.
"Well then, let me fill you in a little history. Ever since 2197, when the first manned mission to Mars discovered the existence of terrestrial beings. The entire world has joined forces to tackle the problem. It started when the mission discovered alien ruins in the tharsis plateau on Mars. After that, they immediately began a study. And thanks to what they've found, mankind has already made incredible leaps in technology-farther-than light travel, for example. And so the investigation continues. Unfortunately, the first team were all killed by the mysterious aliens we now call tarsians. But the mission continues, for the benefit of mankind."
Unable to concentrate to what the teacher was saying, Maxon looked outside the window worried about his childhood friend.
Until just recently, Stella Celaeno was my classmate and my good friend. But now, we aren't even on the same planet. Maybe she's lucky to take part on the tarsian project or rather, grand mission supported by United Nations. Well, she's really smart and she's good at sports. But she's just 15 yrs. old! That's just wrong.
His thoughts was suddenly distracted by a sudden gust of wind, not that intense to break the school windows. A large airship was passing by.
"A space ship? It's smaller than the Luzvimin. Maybe it's a new one?"
"Yes Maxon, that is correct." Maxon almost fell out of his chair by hearing his name. Maxon was startled, so obvious, the whole class laughed at him. "Would you mind listening for a bit?"
Maxon ignored the laughs and sat properly. "Of course sir."
"Thank you." Continuing to where the teacher had left off- "The Luzvimin is the UN space force's new flag ship set for the third tarsian mission. They pick thousands of kids aging 15 to 18 years old all over the country and send them to Mars. If you're chosen, that means you have the ability to fight."
