As I kneeled there, my face wet with my tears, I heard a distant noise. It was my phone ringing. I don't care, I thought as I slowly flipped it open. I heard a small voice say, "He....l....p m...e.." I looked at Lizzie's lifeless form, desperately hoping for a sign of life. "Kitty! Are you there?!" I hear my mother say in a frantic voice. "Mom?!" I ask, "Kitty please! Just let me hear your voice! Just one last time!" She said, clearly in anguish. "Mom I'm trapped! Can you not hear my voice?!" I say loudly into the phone. "HELP ME." I heard, and before I could react the earth was shaking and floor underneath me gave way.
