Chapter 7: Bathroom Break

Darling's POV

"Darrrinnggg," I said, clearly in distress. "Yes," Daring sighed for what seemed like the fiftieth time. "Oh it's just, now I really need to go to the bathroom." My cheeks turned pink. And just then, we saw a small girl, with ratty, short white hair and a ripped red dress. She didn't look much older than Darling. She pointed towards a door and said, "Outside." We paused and Daring asked, "Are you hurt? Did you die here?" She merely nodded and pushed open the door for us. The girl had vanished. Daring took a breath and said, "Is it ok if you go outside Darling? I mean, all the bathrooms in this school are either locked or inaccessible... I'll wait in here, just go  to the edge of the forest and come back when you're finished." He smiled reassuringly. I tried to smile back. "Ok..." We walked out onto the outdoor walkway, and it seemed to be pouring. "Alright, just hop over the little fence and scream if anything happens, I'll be right the out this door," he indicated the said door, "And please try to hurry." He smiled and walked back inside. I turned towards the small fence, I stood on my toes, and threw one leg over, but I stopped. A girl with only one eye was hovering near the forest  and she looked directly at me with hatred, screaming, "GIVE IT BACK!" I turned my head away to try and go back, but as soon as I turned my head to look if she was gone, her bloody face was inches away from my own face. "GIVE IT BACK!" She yelled again. "DARING!" I screamed and ran back inside, but Daring was gone.

Daring's POV:

"DARLING!" I yelled, throwing my whole weight on the door that would no longer open. "DARLING!" I screamed, my fists pounding against the door. There was a unmistakable giggle behind me. I whirled around, and there was the girl with the white hair and red dress. Her face was now in the light. She had a sinister smile, and I had a bad feeling that she had separated me and Darling once and for all.
