Chapter 8: Cat got your tongue?

Raven's POV

I hold the doll in front of me as we walked along. "This must have been the killer's doll, maybe we can find his spirit and make him repent, so we can free all of us and the children..." I finished. "But that doll is still creepy as hell, it almost looks like it will start talking any sec-" "So...r...r...y, So ver...y sorr...y," Dexter screamed, and started backing up rapidly, because the voice came from the doll. I gasped, but I still held onto it. "I shouldn't have... Killed those people..." The doll had said. "Dexter, come back, this doll might be the key to our escape!" I smiled a small smile. Dexter had walked back over, but he still looked uneasy. I stopped. He leaned up against a wall and said, "No w-" he was about to say, when the wall he leaned against, cracked open, and a small passage was visible. "Huh?" Dexter said and looked inside cautiously. "Raven? There's a pouch in here..." He pulled out a bloody pouch, I slowly looked inside and... "Oh my god." I squeaked. Inside the pouch was a severed tongue. I dropped the pouch and started to shake. "Raven! Look! It's that ghost brat we ran into earlier!" Sure enough, his figure was right at the end of the hallway. "Give it back. Give it back." He took a step closer to us. "GIVE IT BACK!" He screamed and flung himself towards me, clutching my neck so hard that I couldn't breathe. "GIVE! IT! BACK!" I was choking. Then it hit me. I reached for the bloody pouch that had dropped and reached inside. I pulled out the tongue and put it in front of the ghost's face. He immediately stopped strangling me. "My... Tongue. Thank you miss..." He then floated up towards the ceiling and disappeared in a flash of white light.

"Well, it looks like we appeased all the spirits," Dexter said. "No, there was one more, her name was Bunny Blanc, but according to the news paper, she was found before she was killed..." I said, "So that must mean she's still alive, and we appeased all the other spirits..." Dexter said trying to act casual. "I know, but I have a feeling... That we are missing something. I don't know what, but I have a feeling we are going to have to risk more than our lives to find out the whole story..."
