Forever: Sean and Ellen

Butterflies erupted in Maria’s stomach as she kissed him back. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she could barely breathe. She adored the feel of his lips on hers, and she scooted up in the chair, pulling him closer to her. She felt him smile into the kiss as he removed his hands from the chair on placed them on her hips.

Several moments later, Nigel pulled back and leaned his forehead against Maria’s; they were both breathing heavily. Maria’s cheeks flushed even more than they had before and she giggled. Nigel grinned at her and pulled away, gently pushing her chair back in before sitting himself on he one next to her.

“Can I ask you something?” he asked. The moment after he said it he realized something and cursed mentally.

“Sure,” Maria said with a soft smile.

Nigel gave her a slightly shocked stare.

“What?” Maria questioned, raising an eyebrow at his expression.

Nigel grinned a moment and took her hand. “Nothing, I just kind of honestly expected you to say something like ‘You just did,’” he explained.

Maria wrinkled her nose.

“I hate people who say that,” she told him. “It just shows how immature they are to the situation.”

Nigel chuckled.

“I like the way you think,” he said.

“So what was it you wanted to ask?” Maria inquired.

“After school tomorrow, you wanna come with me to Ian’s birthday party?” he asked.

Maria thought about it for a moment. Ian didn’t really seem to like her that much, as the feeling was mutual for her too.

“I don’t know,” she mumbled. “I’m not a big fan of Ian. And won’t he be mad about the Sprite thing?”

“Oh, gosh, no,” Nigel said, waving a hand in the air. “He got over that by the next hour.”

“Then why didn’t he come back to sit with us? And Blake said-”

Nigel covered her mouth with his hand to stop her talking.

“He was talking to some girls from the other school,” he said simply. “He’s a horny teenage dude. It happens. And Blake is just stupid.”

Maria raised an eyebrow and tugged his hand from her mouth.

“Did you just call your friend stupid?” she asked.

Nigel shrugged.

“He is,” he said.

Maria sighed and rolled her eyes.

“So will you?” Nigel prodded. “I can come and pick you up after school.”

Maria gave a long moment to the thought before nodding.

“Alright, I will,” she said.

Nigel grinned and as if on queue, Melinda came out with their food.

Maria smiled at her food, as it was set in front of her. She might have eaten lunch already today, but she was really hungry.

“Where were you today?”

Maria jumped, dropping the open carton of orange juice on the floor. She rushed to pick it up, though there was now a big splash of yellowish orange on the kitchen floor.
