Forever: Confession

Room 103: Susan Campbell (Saint Dominic), Catherine Fuentes (Edward Little), Arianna Johnson (Saint Dominic), Chloe Potter (Edward Little), Maria Snyder (Edward Little), Lucille Thompson (Edward Little), Kirsten Tucker (Edward Little), Elizabeth Underwood (Edward Little)

“I’m screwed,” Maria groaned.

“I feel so bad for you,” said Nigel, laughing.

“Who are you with?” Maria asked.

Nigel handed her his sheet.

Room 110: Justin Bailey (Franklin), Nigel Haner (Saint Dominic), Robert McKenzie (Edward Litte), Cody Nickson (Edward Little), Randy Peterson (Franklin), Jimmy Rockwell (Edward Little), Alex Rodriguez (Edward Little), Mark Rogers (Edward Little)

“No, not Nickson and Rockwell!” Maria exclaimed.

“What?” Nigel gave her a look of confusion.

“Cody and Jimmy are jerks,” she explained. “And they would beat up Alex for being gay when we were in middle school. I can’t believe that Alex has to be stuck in a room with them for a week!”

“Don’t worry, ‘Ria,” said Nigel, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “I’ll protect him with my life.”

“Promise?” Maria held up her pinky finger.

“Promise,” said Nigel, curling his pinky around hers.

“Thank you, Nigel,” said Maria.

“Anything for you,” he said.

Maria shouldered her bag as she Kirsten, Nigel, Alex, and Mark entered the elevator.

“A week with Lucille.” Kirsten sighed.

“Bring it,” said Maria.

“You guys are screwed,” said Mark, chuckling.

A muscle in Nigel’s jaw twitched.

“If she touches either of you, I’ll kill her,” he said.

“Whatever happened to ‘don’t hit a girl’?” Alex asked.

“I won’t hit her,” Nigel said calmly. “I’ll slowly gauge her brain out and then feed it to a llama.”

“I worry about you sometimes,” said Maria.

Nigel laughed and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her to him.

“At least I know you think about me,” he said.

“You know, I’m surprised your ego actually fit in this elevator.” She smirked up at him as he rolled his eyes.

“There you go again,” he said, placing a hand over his heart. “You just wounded it, so I think it will now fit properly in the elevator.”

“Yeah, sure,” said Maria as the elevator doors slid open.

The group walked in silence down the hall before reaching room 103.

“If she does anything, you’ll call me right?” Nigel asked, placing a hand on the small of her back.

“If you want,” said Maria.

He kissed her forehead.

“I’ll be right down the hall if you need me,” he said.

Maria nodded.
