OKAY. PRETTY PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!

I know I haven't been updating as I normally would, but too much stuff has been going on. Boy troubles, douchebags, girl drama, and insomnia. I have to put up with it, and a lot of the times be in the middle of it. So anyway, this chapter is dedicated in three ways: to Matt, who inspired the character of Cadan and the creepy movie kid with an ax; to Riley, who inspired Alex and is also my most missed gay guy in the world; and to All Time Low, who has kept me alive these past few weeks without me dragging a sharp edge across my wrist. To all that have read this, leave a comment saying "V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! THAT'S OUR [your grade level] BATTLE CRY!" (yeahh. I just got back from a middle school pep rally).

I promise I will try to upload faster, but I really can't make any promises, as seeing that God is pretty bipolar with what he does with my life (does he control people's lives? I dunno).

Forever: A Secret Spilled

A loud pounding noise echoed through the Snyder home, coming from the attic. Cara Snyder was once again on a business trip out of the state. The only human in the house was Maria Harris.

Maria tugged a blue-and-white tank top over her head and yanked on a pair of faded blue jeans. She threw herself onto her back on her bed and put on her tennis shoes.

The doorbell echoed through the house, Maria turned off the music, and hurled herself down the stairs.

As she passed through the kitchen, she grabbed her phone and keys off the counter, shoved some dirty dishes into the dishwasher, and sprinted to the door, not managing to stop herself before slamming dead-on into it. Maria staggered back and collapsed onto the floor, eyes wide and face and body burning with pain. A moment later, the door swung forward and Nigel peered down at her.

“I’m assuming that you’re accident prone,” he said, hoisting her to her feet.

Letting him tug her to the couch, she blinked at him.

“What makes you think that?” It was meant to come out dripping with sarcasm, but was heard as a barely audible mumble.

Nigel turned on the light and told her to let him see her eyes, which she complied to.

“Are you okay?” he asked once more as Maria rose to her feet and started towards the door.

“Now if I wasn’t, would I be up and walking around?” she asked, once again able to make sarcastic remarks.

Nigel rolled his eyes and walked after her. Maria turned off the porch light and the living room light and locked the door. In the car, she gave Nigel directions and when they pulled into the driveway of Noah Stark, who stood in the driveway with Alex (they were getting the cat), Maria jumped out and ran to tackle the both of them in one-armed bear hugs.

“Ouch!” yelled Noah.

“Maria, you’re choking me!” Alex sputtered.

Chortling, she pulled away from them as Nigel stepped up to her side. “Is anyone else here yet?”

“Jane and Seth are in there,” said Noah, rolling his eyes. “Making out, like usual.”

Maria grimaced.

“Mark is picking up Leah, Cadan and Brookelle are on their way, and Vincent said he got a last minute date,” Alex told her. “Come on, it’ll be a while before he can find that damn cat, let’s go inside.”

Noah chuckled as Alex grabbed Maria by the hand and pulled her into the house. Nigel raised an eyebrow at Alex and followed.

Alex skipped merrily down the hall and turned at the last door, and entered the den, where they found Jane and Seth wrapped around each other, mouths moving furiously.
