Forever: Remembering Sunday
At some point in they ended up in the living room, lounging lazily on the couch. Maria slept soundly in Nigel’s arms, every once in a while groaning in her sleep.
Nigel flicked through the channels, trying to find something interesting. He felt his phone vibrate in his back pocket and he got it out without moving too much.
From Damon
Ivory isn’t too happy about this.
Nigel wrinkled his nose in disgust. The girl needed to get over things.
To Damon
Well that’s too damn bad. As long as she’s here, she’s supposed to do as I say.
He pushed the phone back into his pocket and looked down at Maria. She lay between his legs; her head sprawled across his chest. He remembered what she had said earlier.
“You don’t know me.” Her words still hurt.
Truth was, Nigel knew her more than she could imagine. Perhaps not as must as Will, Jane, Kirsten, or any of her other friends, but he had in fact been around much longer than she thought.
Nigel thought back to what his father had told him many years back.
“You’ll know who she is when you see her,” he had said. “She will be the only girl you will want to look at then and for years to come. You’ll want to be around her even if she didn’t want you to. Be good to her, and she will be yours, especially after you tell her.”
That was the way Nigel felt about Maria. The exact same feeling he had gotten ten years ago when he first saw her.

Ivory kept her station in the red oak that was placed in front yard of the Snyder home. She had a perfect view of Nigel and Maria on the couch in the living room through the window.
“I hate this,” she mumbled, knowing Brookelle and Martin could hear her.
“Would you rather Sean get a hold Maria and take her to… the big dude upstairs?” Martin asked, hidden on the roof.
“Actually,” Ivory said bitterly. “I would. I’d rather see her anywhere but with Nigel.”
“You’re just mad he doesn’t like you the way you like him,” Brookelle said in annoyance. “Get over it all ready.”
Ivory glared at Brookelle, who was circling the skies.

“Father,” Nigel said, kneeling down in front of his father, who stood in front of his throne.
“Nigel, dear boy,” his father told him in annoyance. “You are my son. You don’t need to bow to me.”
Nigel pulled himself to his feet and grinned.
“Sorry, dad couldn’t help it.”
“So what is it you need?” Nigel’s dad stepped away from his throne.
Nigel was a spitting image of his father. His father was almost a head taller and he wasn’t too threatening.
“I found her,” Nigel told him as he and his father turned to walk out of the throne room.
“Are you sure?” his father asked anxiously as they entered the corridor.
Nigel nodded and pressed his hand against the wall beside him. The wall began to change colors and soon showed the image of the blue-eyed brunette falling to the ground. He pulled his hand back from the wall and looked at his father’s expression.
