Chapter 6: Zayn

“I’m still buzzing,” Liam says, bouncing a bit as we run off of the stage. I shake myself out too, feeling the adrenaline also. It’s a good thing.

“I’ve got to call my mum and tell her about this show,” Niall hums, smiling like a fool as he runs off. I just roll my eyes, knowing that he probably wants to talk to Theo most even though he’d probably just get giggles.

“I’m going to catch up with my dad,” Liam says running off. I doubt he’ll call his dad due to the fact that his face will be shoved with food. He always has a huge appetite after a show. It makes no sense to me. I’m usually just tired.

“I’m going to go call my nan,” Louis says, surprising me a bit.

“You’re not calling Eleanor?” I ask, clearly confused. I knew that things were getting bad, but not this bad.

“She’s busy with UNI shit. It’s okay,” he shrugs, clearly a bit down. His frown is prominent on his face as he ties his hair back and leaves the room. I sigh, feeling bad for him immediately.

“Have you seen a white paper anywhere?” Harry asks me out of random, searching the couches.

“Harry, there’s white papers everywhere,” I tell him wiping my face off with a rag. My phone buzzes and I pull it out only to see that Monica is asking to chill later on.

“I meant a little white slip! That girl at the amusement park gave me her number, but I can’t find it. I don’t want her to think that I’m blowing her off,” he rambles, still searching the room. I laugh as I shoot Monica a reply telling her that I’m busy for the next few days with band stuff. I feel bad, not telling her that I was leaving, but I do plan to go back and see her soon. We have a break coming up in like two days, not a long one, but it’s something.

“I’m sorry mate. You two seemed to hit it off huh?” I ask him. I receive a text from Monica who seems disappointed and a bit ticked off, but what can I do?

“Yeah. Lux couldn’t go on to the bigger rides so I offered to stay off with her,” he shrugs, still searching. He’s getting frustrated meaning that he’ll throw a tantrum soon. Most people would laugh and call it “cute” that he was doing so, but it was really terrifying when he did. People didn’t understand just how scary he could be. It’s something that I don’t like witnessing and definitely don’t like that anger being targeted at me.

“Right ‘cos Lou couldn’t watch her own daughter,” I chuckle, debating on what to respond to Monica.

“I figured that her and Tom could have a bit of romantic time together,” he defends himself, running his fingers through his hair.

“I’m so sure Mr. Afraid of Heights,” I mock with laughter. He groans, obviously upset about not finding this number. I almost feel bad for the lass who gave it to him.

“Shut up,” he whines as I type a response back to Monica explaining that I’m sorry. I really do hope that she understands.

“Who even gave you their number? Did you ask for it or was it the usual?” I ask referring to how many numbers we receive normally. It’s quite insane, really.

“I asked her. I really like her Zayn. Her name is Alex and she was so kind and laughed at my dumb quirky jokes and man, you should’ve seen us. It was the best hour of my life, just bothering her with little Lux. She even gave Lux a giant stuffed animal just due to the fact that she couldn’t win. She said we had tried for a sufficiently long amount of time,” he says tuning off into his own little world.
