I have been stuck in Northwest Florida my whole life, all 24 years of them. I got into some trouble and didnt wanna stick around to find out what was doing to happen. So with nothing in my pocket besides my phone and a pack on my back I decided to just leave town, but how can you travel with no money was a question lingering in my mind, yea i could hitch hike but that seems to dangerous. Jumping into a strangers car was not a risk i was willing to take. Hopping on a train headed west seemed to be the best answer.
I gathered a few things such as clothes, a little food, some hygiene items. I notified a buddy of mine who I have known for years, I figured he would have the know how to get me out of this place i was in. Turns out he wanted to come along for the journey.
We met up not to far from a train yard in Pensacola Florida, The home of the whitest beaches. we scooped the yard out a little and ran into some bums that was not very happy to see us, The tone in their voices made it clear we was more than not welcomed. After a little time we decided to take refuge in a tree line near the tracks, the plan was to jump on the next train headed north without being detected.
The yard had a bunch of lights illuminating the yard so we stayed to the shadows, detection meant being booked for trespassing which would have only made my troubles in Florida even worse. The mosquitoes were fierce and relentless, sleep did not come easy. After a few hours we heard the blare of a train horn, Maybe this will be my ticket out of here...
As I quickly grabbed my bag my traveling buddy and I make our way to the slowly moving train, We are about to Hop Out "On The Fly"
