Chapter 13

The next afternoon we are all just sitting on the floor hanging out and realizing how nice it is to be outside of the walls of H.O.M.E. “You know I think I could get used to this; chilling during the day and then kicking ass at night” Buddy says leaning up against the wall with his hands behind his head.

“Yeah well If we keep making a spectacle of ourselves like we did last night we might end up running into some problems” Sadie says as she writes in a grungy notebook that she found while exploring the warehouse. She said that she wants to keep track of all of our exploits for later down the road.

“What kind of problems could we possibly run into?” Buddy says just about to close his eyes when out of nowhere a sharp spike lands right next to his head. We all jump up and close ranks looking towards the darkened area of the warehouse where the spike mostly likely came from.

“Who’s out there?” Sadie yells into the darkness.

“Long time, no see” a familiar voice says behind us. We turn around to see standing behind us is Alpha team.

“What the hell are you guys doing here?” Sadie says looking very confused.

They don’t even answer her question but instead start to move around the warehouse. “I can’t believe they have been staying here” Spot says running his hand over the dust covered machines.

“I know like not even the rats will sleep here” Spike says walking past us. “Oh wait never mind” he says as a large black rat runs out across the floor. He makes a spike and tosses it right at it making it stick to the ground,” don’t worry I got him.”

“Guys! Will you please tell me how you knew that we were here!” Sadie says to them obviously tired of being ignored.

Rex stops looking around and turns to her,” well you see H.O.M.E implanted chips into all of their “creations” so in case they ended up getting captured they would know their locations. But it also works for when bad girls run away” he says to her with a wink.

“Damn, I should have realized that Mom would have a way of tracking us” Sadie says ignoring the last thing that Rex said.

“It’s okay we all have underestimated Mom at one point” Spike says throwing another spike at a rat.

“So are you guys going to come with us willingly or am I going to have to get rough with you?” Rex says giving Sadie a smile.

Buddy steps in front of Sadie before he can say anything,” and why would we want to leave at all?”

“Well first of all because this place is a dump and second we have more important things to do then play fetch for Mom” Spike says to him.

“Yeah why would guys pick a place in this part of the city to stay? All the buildings here are so crappy and run down” Skip says to them.

“Well we wanted to go to a place that would have the most crime” I say to him finally speaking up.

Rex looks at me shocked that I was actually speaking,” oh yeah, and have you stopped any crimes?”

“Well, yeah last night we stopped a group of guys from stealing a car” I say to him timidly.

He look down at me with an unimpressed look on his face,” let me know when you stop a bank robbery or a man that has a bomb powerful enough to take out half the city.”

“Well I think that for our first time out it isn’t that bad and Gizmo took out this goon like a champ” Buddy says trying to help me out.

“Hmm well maybe we should spare sometime” he says to me.
