chapt. 12

"You're too mean I don't like you, fuck you anyway, you make me wanna scream, at the top of my lungs..." Salecia and Christopher sang together, as they shared Salecia's earphones while they walked to Christopher's house.

"You know this song?" Salecia asked in surprise.

"Um, yeah." Christopher asked with mock surprise present in his expression.

"What's you're favourite song on 'I Love You'."

"Ooo, that's a hard one." Christopher pondered as he played absently with a lock of her chestnut hair. "It would probably be between Afraid and Female Robbery." He smiled.

"Cool. I hope you don't mind me asking but..." Salecia mused.

"What tell me, I won't mind, whatever it is." Christopher whined.

"Ok. So I was just wondering um, what nationality are you?"

He laughed. "Is that all, I thought you confessing to murder or something."

"No." Salecia squealed and hit him playfully on the arm.

"Alright so, my mum is half Australian and half South Korean and my dad is full Australian."

"Same. I'm not a quarter Korean, but I'm biracial" Salecia smiled.

"Cool. So what about you?"

"Well my mum is Colombian and my dad is Kenyan." Salecia twisted a bit of her hair in her hand.

"That explains your hair. It's so... pretty." Christopher said as her looked in awe of her wild chestnut curls.

"Thanks." Salecia whispered as she realized the proximity of his face to hers. He lightly kissed her temple and let his lips linger for a moment. Almost instinctively, Salecia let her head rest on his shoulder before he wrapped his arms loosly around her waist, bring her closer to him.

They stood there oblivious to the world around them absorbed in only themselves and what was happening in that very moment. Neither of them said a word when Salecia laced her fingers with his as walked straight ahead to Christopher's house.
