"Briinngg", chirped her alarm clock on her bedside table. "What? 6:00am already," she moaned, still half asleep. "Just five more minutes, then I swear I'll get up." She closed her eyes and drifted back to sleep. She abruptly woke up to the sound of a motorcycle outside. "What? Huh, I'm awake," she said with tired heavy lidded eyes. She glanced over lazily at her alarm clock. "It's past seven, no, no, I'm going to be late," she thought to herself. She hastily got out of bed, discarding her duvet on the floor.
Out of her closet, she briskly pulled out a white camisole, light blue denim jeans, white ankle socks and white low top Chuck Taylor's. She hopped to the bathroom trying to put on her left shoe. She washed her face and put on a little bit of rose colored blush on her coffee colored skin. She put on pearl earrings sitting on the bathroom windowsill. In the bathroom cabinet she found a few forgotten Bobby pins lying on the bottom shelf that she used to tame her long, kinky chestnut brown hair. Being half Colombian had its perks. "Huh, I actually look presentable," she said, admiring herself in the bathroom mirror. She ran to the door and grabbed her keys and satchel on the way out. Moments later she barged in. "My phone," she said, holding her head in her hands.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I sorry I slept in and then I dozed off, then by the time I woke up-
"Save it." Said Mrs Sundley sternly. "This is the third time this week Salecia."
"I know I'm sorry I won't be late again I - "
"Yeah. Yeah, I've heard this speech before, just get to your workstation and finish the assignment I gave you to work on. I'm sure you can't mess that up."
"Yes, ma'am." Said Salecia quietly.
"Look who finally decided to show up." Lydia said with a playful tone. Lydia Miller was Salecia's closest friend ever since she got her job at Sundley & Co.
"Dammit, where did my pen go, I just had it just now." Lydia said impatiently.
"Dude, it's in your hair." Salecia said in a matter of factly way.
"Oh, thanks." Lydia chuckled.
Lydia pulled out the pen that was holding her hair in a bun. Setting free her long waves that cascaded from brown to blue and rested on her shoulders and back.
"Have you started the homeless research assignment yet?" Lydia asked.
"Kinda, I still need to buy a new camera."
"Go you, leaving things till' last minute, because that ended up so well last time."
In their friendship duo, Lydia was the responsible one and Salecia was the forgetful one. They almost almost had a love hate relationship. But their opposite personality traits made their friendship interesting.
"If you weren't the best journalist here then Mrs Sundley would have fired you already."
"Sure, but that doesn't change the fact that she hates my guts."
"I guess that's true." Lydia giggled. "We get off in like 10 minutes, after do you wanna go camera shopping?"
"Yep, okay sounds cool. There is this new Canon model that I really wanna get." Salecia whined.
"Did you save up?"
"Yeah, I've got some money saved up here and there."
"Sounds so legit Lecia." Lydia mocked.
Lydia's was most notorious for her sarcastic nature.
Idk about this book but let's see where it goes. That's Salecia up there btw ^^
