Lydia and Salecia paced around the store looking for a camera suited to their liking. In the end Salecia settled on a Canon EOS 10D while Lydia decided to get a FujiFilm FinePix S602 Zoom.

"Can I get this one thanks?" Said Lydia.

"This one please." Said Salecia.

"That will be $800, thanks." Said a young and fairly good looking guy behind the counter by the name of Enzo.

Lydia tapped her card and moved out of the way.

"Just this?" He asked Salecia.

"Yes, thanks."

"That will be $1,500."

"Ok, lemme just get that for you." Replied Lydia

Salecia reached into her satchel.

"Here you go." Said Salecia as she smiled at Enzo.

He tapped the card and turned the machine around for her to put her pin. 2657, 2657, 2657. Salecia said in her head as she put in the pin three times. Getting more frustrated and embarrassed by the second. Every time the same thing popped up on the screen. DECLINED.

"I guess I didn't put enough on my card this morning." Salecia said, surprised by the amount of calm in her voice.

"I guess I'll look for something else." She said looking disappointed.

"Come back here Sal."

"It's okay, I'll pay the difference." Said Lydia.

"Oh, thank you Lyd, you don't know how much this means to me." Said Salecia while practically strangling Lydia.

"I swear if people carried their heads around you would forget yours all the time."

"Do you want to go to the park and take some shots with our new buys." Asked Salecia excitedly.

"Sure, but I have to go home in a few hours so I can finish the rest of my research." Said Lydia.

"Ok, fine mum, let's go already." Salecia said as she rolled her eyes playfully.

While Lydia was taking photos she like to listen to music while Salecia used the sounds around her to inspire herself. Anytime Lydia listened to music, they were almost always a band that Salecia had never heard of. Like the "Dead Man's Bone's" or something. She was one of those tumblr, punk rock "that's too mainstream for me" types. Whereas, Salecia was the happy, quirky "I don't care what genre is as long as I like how it sounds" types. They were polar opposites. No one really knew how they balanced each other out, but they just did.

"It's getting dark, we should start going." Said Lydia.

"Yeah, you're probably right. Do you wanna hang tomorrow?"

"I would love to but I can't, I need to go to the city tomorrow and get some photos of homeless people for my assignment." complained Lydia.

"I probably should start getting some photos too, mind if I tag along?" Asked Salecia.

"Uh, yeah, sure, I'll meet you at your house."

"That's fine with me."

"Alright, see you then Lecia."

"Yep will see you tomorrow Lyd. "

While Salecia was walking home her phone vibrated against her thigh. She pulled it out to see who was texting her. To her surprise it was a text from Lydia:

6:51pm

btw Lecia we're taking the train .

Damn you Lydia. Salecia thought. She hated taking the train. She didn't know why, maybe it was the graffiti all over the walls, the dirty worn out seats, the scratched up windows or the creepy people that almost always sat on the train while she was there.

The next morning Salecia woke up to the ringing of her doorbell. "I'm coming." Salecia yelled. She answered the door with her tweety themed pajama pants and hair looking like a bird's nest. When she opened the door she met Lydia with her arms crossed wearing an impatient look on her face. "Dude, we gotta leave in like 10 minutes and you just woke up?." Questioned Lydia.

Lydia almost always looked like one of those punk-rock, grunge model out of someone's tumblr page. Today she a black and red plaid mini skirt, A black haltertop, ripped pantyhose, a black biker jacket, heeled biker boots with a chunky heel and a leather backpack slung on one shoulder. To top that all off she wore round black framed sunglasses wore her in a messy side braid. Salecia liked it when she wore her dyed hair in a braid. They way the darker shades of orange slowly cascaded to shades of lighter orange looked almost magical.

"No, I've been awake for hours." Salecia said while yawning, opening her mouth wide.

"Sure. Dude, you haven't even brushed your teeth." Lydia exclaimed pinching her nose as she smelt Salecia's morning breath.

"You dyed your hair again?" Salecia exclaimed.

"Yeah, I was tired of the blue. I was going for an ombre' effect, did it work?"

"Are you kidding?, dude, it looks amazing."

"I try, hurry up go get ready so we can leave soon."

Salecia disappeared into the abyss that was her room to get ready.

"Where's Ashanti?"

"She went out to the city with her boyfriend, you remember Logan yeah?" Salecia yelled from her room.

"The one with the cute butt and weird last name?, Logman was it?" Lydia mocked.

"You know it's Lerman Lyd, don't play dumb," Salecia joked

She appeared shortly with her hair in a donut bun with a white bow, dressed in a bright yellow knee high sundress with a heart cut out on the back, brown hiker boots with white socks peeking from the top in a stylish fashion, black Ray Bans on the top of her head and a blue and a white striped backpack dangling off her left shoulder.

"Wow, you clean up nicely Sal." Lydia said looking impressed.

"Stop it, I haven't worn this in a while and I just thought why not."

"It looks great on you, but I wouldn't be caught dead in a dress."

The last time Lydia wore a dress was for her Aunt Flo's wedding. But the only reason she wore it is because it wasn't her day and it meant so much to her aunt. So for one day Lydia had put aside her needs and put on a long flowing violet dress that now sits at the back of her wardrobe collecting dust.

that is Lydia up there ^^
