A Billionaire's Family Chapter 6

One month later

-Candace

It seems like it was just yesterday Justin told us about his dad.

~Flashback

Justin called me from the hospital telling me he was on his way home. He's brother was dropping him off and to get the kids in the living room and wait.

I was sitting on the couch with Jamie up in my lap sleeping and Jason and Jillian beside me.

"Mom what does dad want to talk to us about"? Jules asked.

"I honestly don't know".

The front door opened and closed and he came in the living room and sat down. Something wasn't right.

"Justin sweetie what's going on"? I asked concerned.

He sighed. "Umm I just gave from the hospital. Kids grandpa had a weak heart and he died early this morning ". He seemed really calm but I could see the hurt in his eyes.

His dad must have died around 1 in the morning. I left at about 10.

"Wh-what do you mean dad"? Jules asked about to cry.

"He had a heart attack yesterday morning".

Jeremiah stood up. "No he's not dead"! He yelled angrily.

Justin's face changed. He looked mad.

I put Jamie in Jillian's lap. And stood up in front of Justin and Jeremiah.

"Calm down please". I looked at Justin.

"Mom he can't be dead. I didn't even get to say goodbye". Jeremiah ran out the living room.

"Jeremiah"! I yelled after him.

"Mom I'll go after him". Jacob said and got off the floor and went after him.

Out of all the kids Jeremiah was the closet with his grandpa.

Jason tugged on Justin's pants. And Justin bent down.

His face was soft again. "Yes son".

"If papa is dead does that mean he's an angel now"? Jason asked.

"Yeah buddy he is". Jason hugged Justin around the neck.

"Mom I just don't understand. Grandpa looked fine last week". Jules said tears coming down her face.

I sat beside her. "Sweetie nobody knew. Grandpa was just getting older".

She put her head in my lap and cried as I played with her hair and rubbing her back.

I looked at Jillian who was just staring into space.

"Jillian sweetheart are you okay".

She looked at me and nodded. "I'm fine. May I go take a nap"?

"Yeah sure. Just lay Jamie on the couch".

She did and went out the living room.

~End of Flashback

After that the house was a little different. The kids started school. And Justin works and works and works. He's never home unless he's sleep.

Jules is better she's actually on the cheer team and still talking to that one guy.

Jacob never changed. He's still my funny son. And we finally helped his girlfriend. She's staying with her aunt and her dad is in jail.

The twins. Jillian still cries at night. Sometimes I have to rock her to sleep. And Jeremiah barely talks to anyone.

And my babies they don't really understand. All they know us grandpa is an angel.

Jason is finally in kindergarten. I'm so proud.

The funeral was last week and it was touching. Everyone was in tears. Everyone but Justin. He still hasn't cried about his father being gone. They say it doesn't hit everyone at the same time.

It was Friday and it was time for laundry day. I picked up all the kids dark clothes and was about to knock on Jeremiah's door.

But it sounded like he was talking.

"Dear God, I hope grandpa is behaving up there please tell him I miss him. And God do you think you can talk to my dad. I feel like he doesn't love our family anymore. I miss him so much. I see how much mom is sad. She needs him and so do we. I just want to be able to talk to my dad about grandpa cause I know he can relate to me. I can always cry to my mom but I don't want her feeing bad for me. God bring back my dad. Amen".

Wow was all I said. I never knew he felt like that.

I need to talk to Justin now.
