Hey,
I'm Linsey, I'm fifteen and I'm moving to some place in Kansas. I'm not quite sure where exactly. My mom tells me I have brown hair and grayish blueish eyes, but I've never ever have seen myself. Yup, that's right. I'm blind. Have been ever since I was born. I have a long stick that helps me move around. The reason I'm moving to Kansas is because I'm supposed to get some sort of 'Physical Training' pffft I don't need any of that crap. I'm pretty smart I read 'special' books, they have indents in them so I can use my fingers to figure out each letter. Since I can't see I sometimes ask my friends if I can feel their face... I know it sounds weird, but how would you feel if you could never know what your parents looked like or anything. Sometimes I think, its weird when you say the color green I know exactly what your talking about, even though I've never actually seen it. Oh and by the way, yes I can cry. Just because I can't see doesn't mean I can't cry. My favorite restaurant Pizza Hut and we go there every other Friday with one of my friends. It's really nice because I get a 30% discount because of my 'disability' yeah right. I don't really have a lot of friends because everyone thinks I'm dumb, but I'm not. I'm in all excel classes and get straight A's. I'm starting my first year of high school in Kansas and I'm way to excited. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard my mom calling me.

"Linsey!" She called.

I huffed. I love listening to music, and at the time that's exactly what I was doing.

"Coming!" I yelled back, I stood up and walked towards where I heard her voice.

I've got this whole place memorized so I wouldn't have to use my stick around the house.

"Yes." I said quietly as I walked into the kitchen.

"Ok, so since we are heading to Kansas tomorrow and all, once you get to school your gonna have a friend to help you." I heard her say in her usual southern accent.

I remembered the bags of clothes my dad helped me pack for the trip tomorrow. I knew when my mom said 'friend' she really meant 'assistant'. That means a boy or girl older than me will have the exact same schedule as me and help me around the school.

"Okay." I said feeling a little nervous.

"Okay honey dinner will be ready in a few, you can sit down here with me or you can just relax." Mom said.

I felt myself nod my head and walked carefully back to my room. This was going to be interesting.
