This is it today's the day. The day I leave Kansas, Colby, and just overall my soul. Colby is making me wear a dress. I absolutely positively despise dresses. They are absolutely terrible. I am currently wearing a black t-shirt with SNOOPY in white letters on the back and a small picture of snoopy from Charley Brown on the far right side in my shirt. I also have long maroon pants on. My hair is down and slightly curly. I'm not allowed to wear makeup because of my eye surgery. They told me I have to wait two months and it's been one day so yeah... Anyhow I sat down on my bed and sighed picking up a picture of Colby and I on the first day of school. He was nuzzling my head and we were both smiling wildly. I felt a tear drop down my face.
"Ha." I laughed a sad and happy laugh.
I smiled and closed my eyes. Today is the last day I'll be in Kansas I need to make it rememberable. I pulled out my phone and started texting Colby.
Me: Let's go to the Mall!
Colby: I'm gonna take you later.
Me: I know but I wanna do some random crap!
Colby: Brt :D
I smiled to myself and waited patiently for Colby to ring the doorbell. About two minutes later I heard the doorbell ring. I jumped up from my spit grabbing my phone and wallet running towards the front door. I swung it open to see Colby in red sweat pants a back shirt with a black beanie.
"Hello." I say while leaving the house and closing the door behind me.
We walked towards his Jeep then he finally spoke.
"Hello Sunflower." Colby says to me opening the passenger door to his Jeep. I slipped inside of his car and watched as he jumped inside as well.
"So." Colby says starting the car and driving off towards the mall.
"So." I reply back with a sad smile.
"What kinda dress you looking for?" He asked me with a smirk not taking his eyes off the road.
"Ummm, what's your favorite color?" I asked Colby.
To be honest as long as I'm with Colby at the dance I'll be fine.
"Blue, because I like the ocean, and the ocean is blue." He says with a big smile at the end laughing a bit.
"Deep little chiznip." I say with a smile.
"Chiznip?" He questions me.
"Yup." I say popping the p.
Colby takes a sharp turn and we park in the Mall parking lot. Colby exited out of the jeep and ran over to my side and opened the car door for me. He's such a gentlemen sometimes.
"Thank you." I say my voice cracking at the end.
Colby and I walk in the mall for several hours not finding the right dress. We did the same routine, go into the store, find some nice dresses we can't afford, go to the dressing rooms, try them on, put them away, the repeat. Finally this cycle stopped when we reached a store with street clothes. I looked in the windowsill and saw a nice dress that ends at the knees, it is long sleeved and I just couldn't stop staring at it. I felt someone's chin rest on my shoulder.
"Wanna try it on?" Colby asks me.
"Uhh yea." I say suddenly feeling nervous.
Colby and I walk into the stores. I find the same dress my size and head towards the dressing room. Colby waits outside while I put it on. I slipped on the dress and looked at myself in the mirror. I didn't look to bad. I open the curtain. Colby's eyes meet up with mine.
"Uhh y-you it umm it looks great." He says moving his hands.
Why is Colby stuttering. I just smile and walk back into the dressing room. I put on my clothes and make sure to buy the dress. Right when iI was about to give the cashier my cash Colby immediately gave the cashier his money.
"Colby!" I whispered angrily while slapping his arm.
"Your welcome." He laughs with a big smile.
"Thank you." I sigh.
Colby and I return to his Jeep once the nice cashier gave me my dress. Colby pulled up my driveway.
"I'll see you later Sunflower." Colby says making me blush.
"Bye Colbs." I say and walk into my house with the biggest smile on my face.
