Chapter 9: This is Halloween

After I had told all the stories, the kids were asleep on chairs and sofas. I smiled at them all as the guardians came over to me. I just smiled and slowly got up from the big chair I was in. It took me a monent but something hit me. Why did we bring the children here and not back to thier homes?

"Eve, are you ready?" North asked.

"Ready for what?" I replied. What could I be ready for?

"Halloween is tomorrow night Eve. You need to be ready on all parts." Bunny explained.

I can't believe I forgot my own holiday! I went to the window and looked out to the moon. I still need to check on the candy and costumes! I started to panic as I flicked my wrist and my checklist of Halloween To-Do's came out. I looked and saw that not one thing was checked off.

"I have to go. Bring the kids home and to their beds before the parents notice." I commanded as I woke up Midnight and we walked outside.

Jack's POV:

We all saw the look of fear on Eve's face even if she didn't see it herself. I'm happy that she changed me back from the evil me. I walked over to see her fly away on her Griffon. The others had grabbed the kids and we were bringing them home. I took Jamie and we put them on the sleigh. After they were all on, we took off to bring them home.

Once we finished dropping the children off, we started our way back. I took my own way and told the guardians that I was going to check on Eve. Bunny wasn't so sure about that because of how protective he is of her but I told him that it was fine. Once at her little cottage, I saw her through the window working with a cauldron and her book.

"Eve," I called through the open window.

"Jack, I don't have time." She replied while pouring different things into the cauldron and looking over to different mirrors around the room.

I watched her for a second and started watching the mirrors. They held different pictures to different places. Some of them were of towns, others were of stores and candy factories. This was impressive. This looked like something that would be in the north pole or something.

"Eve, how do you have all of these working?" I asked.

"My powers are at their strongest today and tomorrow. I can use all of the mirrors at once and for different places." She explained as she brought a mirror of Japan to the cauldron and dropped it in.

The frame turned into a bright orange color. She looked happy at what she had done. The mirror then showed different parties and kids in costumes. I looked at the joy on Eve's face and smiled. She looked like a little girl who just got a new bike for christmas.

Eve's POV:

"This is my favorite part, seeing the smiles on their faces and them being brave and facing their fears." I said out loud.

Jack walked over to me and watched over my sholder while I did the same max potion for other time-zones around the world. I usually have a month to bottle up the potions and pour them on the mirrors but with all the stuff involving Pitch, I haven't had time. I went to grab the bottle of bat fangs, generously given when Jack stood in my way.

"Jack, if you want to stay here, you can grab the ingredients in my book and hand them to me." I giggled.

He smiled and started walking around grabbing bottles and handing them to me. I saw the potion change from clear to orange. I told Jack which mirror to grab and he handed it to me. This happened until all the mirrors were orange and flashing pictures of happy halloween memories and little kids facing their fears.

"We make a pretty good team, huh Frost?" I joked once we finished.

"Guess we do Hallows. We should get back to the Pole though." He replied.

I smiled and walked with Jack and Midnight outside. Midnight grew and I climbed on while Jack just started floating around.

"Last one to the Pole has to make hot cocoa for everyone." I yelled once I took off.

"This is going to be fun." I heard Jack mutter.
