Chapter forty-four.

A long male walks into the small office on the 6th. He has grey hair and is wearing a white shirt with a grey blazer over.

His handshake is firmly. "Adelina Fisher, right?" he says gladly and I nod.

"Nice to meet you,"

We sit down on each side of the table and he immediately starts asking questions.

An hour later we have discussed everything between heaven and earth and I find out that Earl is a very nice man. He has two daughters, Joannah and Emely and is divorced from their mother. He owns a couple of cafés around New York, but this one was his first. He calls it his baby.

He shows me around the café and I meet the other employees, feeling somewhat home already.

Earl tells me he wants me to start working straight away, but I have to wait until Monday, now it's Thursday.

"See you on Monday, Addie" he even hugs me when I am ready to leave the café around four on the afternoon, and I smile, nod my head and head towards the door.

Outside on the street does my very own BMW is parked by the curb. I still can't believe Niall bought it for me, but I have to agree with him that I love him.

I stop by the supermarket to do some quick grocery shopping before I have to head home to surprise Niall tonight with his favorite dinner, enchiladas.

The white Range Rover is parked on the regular parking spot and I curse as I take out the grocery bags. It was supposed to be a surprise for him. Not much fun when he is home, though.

"Niall?" I ask when I open the door, but he doesn't answer.

The door to the bedroom is closed and I knock lightly on it, before open it. He is asleep in the bed, only wearing a pair of grey sweatpants.

He is looking adorable where he lies on his stomach, his arms under the pillow, hugging it. I, actually can't help but take a picture with my phone and when I do his phone make a vibrate noise on the kitchen counter. And another one, and another one.

I pick it up and the only thing I can read is "You are going to fucking regret..." and I can't help but open the message. I don't know who sent it, there is no name, but the whole message reads, "You are going to fucking regret this! You are going to pay for this, you know that, you fucking cunt?!"

I stand there and reads the message again and again and drag my finger upwards to read the older messages and I gasp.

"Where the fuck is my money, you fucking slut!?"

Has Niall stolen the money from somewhere? I have no idea of his economy, but I know he has nothing to worry about, as he has told me a thousand times, but it maybe wasn't that good if he has stolen it from someone?

I bite down my tongue, still holding his phone in my hand, but I walk into the office and starts up the computer. I type in the phone number on google but nothing comes up. Who did send these messages and has Niall stolen money from him?

I didn't think he was this mysterious any longer. I guess I was wrong?

A hearing of someone who clears their throats make me turn around and Niall stands there leaning against the doorframe.

"Hi, babe" he yawns. "What are you doing?"

I inhale, don't knowing if I should tell him about reading the messages. It seems like something I would do, normally. But this maybe isn't the best time?

Everything is floating on good right now. He is sleeping through the night now, just a few nights he has woken up because of his nightmares, Harry is the turning back to the same kind man he was before Zayn's murder, he shut us all out for two months after the funeral. Not even Niall could get ahold of him. Gina's bump is showing clearly now, since she is on her seventeenth week. Everything is good, and I start working on Monday. Why did something like this had to ruin it?

"Baby?"

I decide to release the bomb. I can't keep it in me.

"What is this?"

Niall walks over to me as I hold out my phone at him. He stares at the screen, exhale deeply as reads it. He looks into my eyes, a mix of anger and sadness.
