c h a p t e r || 61

Chapter sixty-one. NIALL'S POINT OF VIEW:

Louis and Gina forces me to meet them at the coffee house by the pier. Officer Ramones has promised to call if they found out something else.

"Do you want something?"

I shake my head as the door opens again and Molly is rushing inside.

"Have they found her?!"

I shake my head again and bury my head in my hands. I am freaking out.

"I am exhausted. Don't know what to do"

"You said something about a car?" Gina says, her eyes are swollen and red.

"They found a car, crashed into a tree a couple of miles north. An old Wagoneer..."

"What? Wagoneer? Are you sure?"

I nod my head and I take my phone out from my pocket to show her the picture of it and Molly gasp.

"It's Ben. He has her. That's his truck! It is his father's old one, it used to be parked in Connecticut"

"Maybe he was on his way there when he crashed" Gina says, but I stop listening, standing up, heading towards the door. I call Ramones, telling him about the news and jump into my car.

"I am heading up there now"

"No, Niall. Let the police handle it!"

"I can't! It is my fiancée. Who knows what he has done to her!?"

The passenger seat opens and Molly climbs in. "I am coming with you"

I hang up on Ramones and start the car, driving north.

"Why didn't I think of him!? He thinks Addie ruined his life" Molly's voice is about to crack, and I place my hand on her knee, trying to calm her down. "If he has done something to her... I will never forgive myself"

I can't speak up, because I don't know what to say. I am just thinking of what I am going to do with him if he has touched her in any kind of way.

All the way up there I have my hand placed on Molly's knee, while she sobs quietly, staring out the window.

I park the car down the block and we sneak into the garden.

"Do you recognize this car?" I say low when we pass a parked Subaru and she shakes her head. Loud music is coming from inside the house when we quietly enter it.

I got a gun tucked in the back of my pants, just in case. Molly doesn't know about it, but if I have to, I will use it. The anger makes me want to use it.

We hear voices coming from the living room, and I press my finger against my lips and Molly nods. Addie's muffled voice and another ones, clearly Benjamin Wood.

"You fucking destroyed my family. Just hope your lovely Niall will come to get you before it is too late" we hear as we creeps closer. "I told you to stay with me, to do me all the favors, and you would be loved by a man! Not a child!"

Another muffled sob is coming from Addie and it breaks my heart. She tries to scream, but she can't. As I peek around the corner I see that she has duct tape over her mouth.

"Stay here, I go in first" I whisper to Molly as quietly I can and I pick up the gun, her eyes staring at it. "I won't use it" I reassure but I don't know if I am telling the truth.

I pick it up by my head and sneak forward. As soon as Addie sees me her muffled scream becomes worse. Her cheeks are soaked, she is bleeding from her right nostril and she has a scar on her cheek. She sits on a chair in the middle of the room, her hands and legs are tied up.

Ben is holding a dagger in his hand, standing about a feet away from her.

"I was just wondering when you were going to be here" he says to me with a wicked smile on his lips.

"Let her go!" I demand, pointing the gun at him.

"What are you going to do, Niall? Shoot me?"

"I would be happy to! Now, let her go!!"

He approach her and stroke her cheek and I put my finger over the trigger.

"Don't touch her!!" I scream at the top of my lungs.

"What are you going to do about it? Nothing!!" he yells back.

Out of nowhere Molly steps out behind me, her cheeks are also soaked with tears, and Ben actually looked shocked.

"Release her, Benjamin!" she sobs. "I can't believe you are doing this"

"She ruined my life!!" he yells at her.

"No she didn't! You ruined it yourself! Do the right thing and let her go!"

He is breathing pretty heavy, staring at Molly. I look over at Addie, her panic eyes meet mine. I slowly move forward to her, but Ben is quickly to come between, pointing the dagger at me.

"YOU CAN NOT SAVE HER THIS TIME!!"

As he moves forward to attack me there is a shotgun fired and he falls down on the floor. Molly screams behind me and runs over to her husband who is lying on the floor, a puddle of blood surrounding the stomach area. He stares at her with tears in his eyes, but I cannot feel sympathy for this man.

I put the gun down and run over to Addie and drags the duct tape from her mouth, releasing her hands and feet. She tosses herself around me, sobbing into my shoulder as I try to calm her, stroking her hair.

Officer Ramones walks into the room from the balcony. Apparently he shot Ben before he could attack me, and he is calling for another ambulance on his radio.

"Schh. It is okay. I'm here now" I whisper and stand up, but she can't follow. Her legs doesn't carry her body. But I can.

I carry her out from the house, putting her in the ambulance bunk, jumping in next to her. She squeezes my hand hard as we are driven to the hospital and I stroke her forehead with my fingertips.

Two hours after we arrived at the hospital she is stitched up and she is sleeping next to me in the bed. He had not done anything to her, except for giving her a scratch on the cheek, which he should be glad for. What if I wouldn't have walked in in that moment? What would he have done to her then?

"Stop thinking about it, man. She is safe now"

I look over at Louis who is sitting by the end of the bed, Gina sleeping against his shoulder.

I give him a small smile and nod, placing a kiss on Addie's forehead.
