Chapter seven.
When we get home there is a couple of suitcases in the hall and we hear voices coming from the kitchen.
"Daddy's home!!" both of the girls shouts and disappears.
I walk after them and see the back of the man. He is carrying his daughters in each arms which makes me smile.
"Hi, Addie!" Molly speaks as she sees me.
He turns around and my smile immediately drops.
It is him! The man who I spilled my drink over yesterday. The man in the club. Wasn't he on some kind of a business trip?
"Oh, hello! Nice to meet you, sir!" I try my best to act natural. Did he remember me?
He reach out his hand and shakes mine.
"Nice to meet you too, Adelina" he speaks very calm and firm. Almost like he's telling a ghost story. I'm currently sure he knows I'm the girl from yesterday.
"How was the park?" Molly asks and put the chicken into the oven.
"It was fun!! We built a sand castle that was just as big as me!" Michelle laughs.
The tension by the dinner table later that evening is unbearable. I can't look at Mr. Wood and even though I try to act as usual I feel fake."Addie, can you help me with my homework later?" Naomie asks.
"Of course!"
"Oh, me too!"
"Yes, I'm happy to!"
"You don't have homework" Leo states to his little sister. "You're only in kindergarten!"
"I do to!"
"No, you are too little!" he smiles and puts a potato in his mouth. I know this from home. Nate always teased Troy when we was smaller.
"Stop, you are mean!"
"No, I'm honest!" he sticks his tongue out and Michelle starts to cry.
"You are mean! I don't like you!!" she yells and runs up the stairs.
"Leo! That was unnecessary!" Molly leaves the table and walk upstairs.
Now when she is gone it feels just as more tensed and I panic a little bit. I know he remembers me. And I don't know what to say in this situation.
"Are you finished?" Mr. Wood asks his only son and he replies by nodding. "Then, walk upstairs"
"What?" Leo seems stunned.
"You heard me! You are teasing your sister which we don't allow"
"You always defend them! They never do anything wrong in your eyes!!" Leo push away his plate and stands up. "You are never home, and every time you are you only care about them and... and I HATE YOU!!" he runs up to his room.
Now it is my turn to get stunned. I am almost afraid to breathe, not knowing what to say.
"I'm sorry for that" Mr. Wood says. This being the first time he has ever spoken to me, if you don't count when he introduced himself earlier.
"That's okay..."
"What happened?" Molly walks into to the kitchen.
"Leo was..."
"Is it okay if I go up to him?" I interrupt Mr. Wood by standing up.
"Yes, sure. Leave the dishes"
"Thank you for the food!"
I give Molly a smile before walking two steps a time to Leo's room.
"Leo?"
"Leave me!"
"Please, open. We haven't had a chance to talk very much yet... Maybe we can go out?" It takes a moment before he unlocks the door and he lets me in. "Or we can just hang out here"
I had never been in his bedroom before. The walls are painted in a classic blue color and his furniture goes in black. On a board on one of the walls there is a map of the world and he has thumbtacks here and there."Oh, what is this?"
OH, I AM JUST GIVING IT OUT TO YOU, DON'T I?
HAHA, HOPE YOU LIKE IT!
