Chapter nine.

I wake up, all sweaty, by the alarm on my phone. I turn it off and rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
Did I just had a dream about Niall and that we were getting married?
I quickly get dressed and go downstairs to meet the kids to drive them to school.
When I get back I hear someone calling out my name. It is Mr. Wood.

"Yes?" I say when I enter his office.

"Close the door behind you, please" he says and put some papers in a drawer and I do so. "I go straight to the point. I heard you come home five this morning. I don't know what you think this is, but it is definitely not a hotel!"

I am stunned. Don't knowing what to say and for some reason I feel myself blushing.

"I-I'm sorry" I say quietly.

"And I know it was you who spilled your drink on me, on that club"

"Your wife said you were on a business-trip..." I say and meet his eyes. I see something dark in them and he sits there by his desk in silence for a long while.

"You. Don't. Say. Anything. About. That. Night! Understand?" he says slowly. "If you tell my wife I can promise you a one-way ticket home to your precious England"

Is he threatening me? I think so, his eyes still not leaving mine.

"I promise!" I say, feeling like a pathetic little girl. "Can I leave now?"

He nods and I quickly walk out of there.

"He is a creep! I have seen him with a lot of women! I bet he is cheating on Molly... poor Molly" Gina states and take a sip of her coffee. We had decided that we would meet up at a café in the harbor.

"That's not the worst! I had a dream about Niall tonight... or rather a nightmare"

"Oh, what? Something tasty?"

I laugh and tell her and of course she has to say inappropriate things about it. We sit there for a while under silence, just checking our phones – this is how you are making conversation nowadays, right?

"Hi!" a familiar voice says behind me and I turn around to see Louis and Niall standing there. "Can we join you?"
I toss a murder gaze on Gina, but she's ignoring me. I jump further into the booth and Niall sits down next to me. Louis and Gina starts talking immediately while we sit in silence.

"Louis, do you want to take some pictures in the photo-booth out there?" she smiles.

"Oh, yeah! Come on!" he drags her up and she winks at me before they disappears.

I slowly move the spoon around in my coffee and look out the window. I hate when I feel like I don't know what to say.

"So... Gina told me you had a dream about me last night..." he says and I meet his eyes. Of course she did!

"Oh, I'm going to kill her... but, ehm... yeah"

"What was it about?"

The day before yesterday he wouldn't even say 'hello' to me and now he wants to know about my dream? How does that work? He had looked disgusted when I reached out my hand to him. I was polite and he was a jerk about it, and last night he didn't talk to me or looked at me even once, and now he wanted to know what my dream was about?

"Hello?" he wake me up from my daydreaming. "You haven't said anything for minutes!"

"Ehm, no... I'm just a little bit stunned. I mean, the day before yesterday you could barely look at me, you were a big jerk and the same about last night. You didn't talk or looked at me, and now you want to know about my dream?"

He looks uncomfortable and I pick up my bag, ready to leave him. Why was he like this?

"I looked at you..." he whispers.

I walk outside and look around for Gina. She had drove me here and I didn't know how to get home. There is no sign of her anywhere so I lean towards the railing and watch out over the ocean.

"Ehm,..."

I turn around to see no one other than Niall standing there with his hands in his pockets.

"I'm sorry if I was a jerk"

I scoff it away and turn around to watch the ocean again. On the island out there stands Statue of Liberty, and I've always wanted to go there.
I have to convince Gina to go with me, or she owes it to me after leaving me here with Niall.
