Anakin's pov

I land my ship beside an average sized building that is a golden-brown color. We decided that this color would fit best since it makes the building look like sand to anyone flying in a ship above. When Rider first told made that he was painting it this color, I didn't think that doing so would actually make it harder to spot the base, but it does. Even though I don't like to admit it, I have gone past the base a few times due to it blending in so well.

As I start power off my ship, I see Rider exit our base, wearing a black shirt and black pants, seeming to forget that he is on Tatooine.

Once he sits beside me, with a smirk forming on my face, I can't help but say, "Rider, I understand that I am your biggest role model, but you don't have to make yourself look like me. First the hair, and now the clothes. What will be next?"

I expect a witty or sarcastic comeback from him, but instead I am met with his cheeks becoming a bright shade pink, followed by him turning away from me.

"Lighten up, Rider. It has been so long since I last saw you. Can't I make a few jokes here and there?" I say with a smile as I put my hand on his shoulder, but to my surprise, the action causes him to flinch.

"Rider, are you okay?" I ask softly as I pull back my hand, my smile disappearing completely. Did something happen to him while I was gone? Did he get hurt? I hope not.

He lets out a shaky sigh before turning toward me, plastering a fake smile on his face as he nods his head 'yes' in response to my question.

Even though I don't believe him, I let it go, not wanting to push him, instead hoping that eventually he will tell me the truth.

"Why did it take you so long to come? Were you unable to escape the members of The Council long enough to visit me?" He asks with a smirk, seeming a little too eager to change the subject, but I just play along, not wanting to make him feel uncomfortable.

"No, it wasn't that. I met a new friend at The Temple and have been spending almost every second with him. Up until today, I had completely forgot about you," I say with a smile, knowing that he will instantly see through my lie, but it is still fun to mess with him, something that I missed doing during the time that I spent away from him.

"A new Jedi friend? That sounds like hours of fun, Anakin. What do you two do? See which one of you is better at meditating? Hopefully you don't do that, because if you did, I know who would lose," Rider says with a laugh, causing me to roll my eyes, knowing that I walked right into that joke.

"I am glad that you are enjoying yourself, Rider, but we have a job to do," I say as he continues to laugh, deciding that I should change the subject away from the Jedi friend that both of us know is fake. We both know how lonely I was feeling without him, and hopefully, I am not the only one who felt that way.

"Yes, you are right, Anakin. I guess it is nearly impossible to simply have fun in the presence of a Jedi," he says with a disappointed sigh, but it is obvious that he is trying so hard to keep from bursting into another fit of laughter.

After punching him lightly in the shoulder, in a voice filled with mock hurt, I say, "Rider, I can have fun just like you do. How dare you suggest otherwise?"

"If you can have fun too, why are you trying to make us do work when we are obviously having tons of fun?" Rider asks as he raises his left eyebrow, a challenging look in his eyes.

"Believe me, I would rather spend my time having fun with you, but we need to find this Sith. If I fail this mission, The Council won't send me on another one by myself, making it impossible to have fun like this again," I say quietly, wishing that this isn't the way it has to be. If only The Council would trust me if I messed up just this once, but being The Chosen One, I doubt that they would give me that much leeway.
