Rider's pov

It has been nearly a week since I started training as a Sith. During the short time that I have spent with my master, Sidious, I have learned several new force abilities, but I can't decide if that is a good or bad thing.

I quickly walk towards Sidious' office, afraid to keep him waiting any longer since he wanted me there two minutes ago. On my second day, I didn't think that being three minutes late to meet him was that big of a problem, but realized how wrong I was when the lightning started to flow over me until I could hardly breathe through the pain. Ever since then, I have made sure that I am on time to avoid punishment, but that won't be happening today.

For the past week, I haven't spent much time with Sidious, which I am extremely thankful for. Most of the time I am with Darth Caliga, experiencing intense training that results in punishment every time I do something wrong, which is at least three times a training session. The only times I see Sidious is when Darth Caliga is telling him about my lack of progress, which results in punishment, or when he is giving me a mission to do, where failure shockingly results in punishment.

As I stand in front of the door to his office, I take several deep breaths, trying to keep my fear under control, but it is so difficult to do so when I am terrified of him hurting me once again.

As I open the door and step inside, I see Sidious with his back towards me, not a good sign.

I move a few feet towards him then drop to one knee and lower my head, wondering if he will forgive me for being late. I doubt he will. When do the Sith ever show forgiveness?

"You are late," he says in a cold voice, making me dread what is to come.

"I know, Master," I whisper as I look up at him with his back still facing me, hoping that he won't punish me for once.

I realize that hope isn't enough to save me a few seconds later when I he turns around, lightning shooting from his fingers, it racing towards me.

I quickly jump to my feet and use my own lightning to keep his from reaching me.

He laughs as our lightning meets in the middle. I begin to smile a little when I see that mine is not being pushed back by his. A few seconds later, my smile fades away as his lightning slowly starts to come towards me, mine unable to keep his powerful lightning back.

After several more seconds, my arms begin to shake from the strain of using Sith lightning for one of the first times.

Noticing my weakness, he makes his lightning even more powerful, causing it to reach out to me rapidly.

Knowing that I am fighting a losing battle, I stop my lightning, resulting in his reaching me.

The power behind the Sith lightning causes me to fly back and slam into the door that is a few feet away from me. I moan in pain as I hit the floor, hearing a sickening crack from my left leg, the Sith lightning not leaving me alone for even a second.

As he walks towards me, still showering me with lightning, I close my eyes and picture Zeba's smile, her beautiful face once again being the only thing that gets me through all this pain.

When Zeba's image in my mind starts to fade and I begin to feel extremely lightheaded, the lightning finally stops.

Now that the lightning is no longer coursing over me, I let out a sigh of relief and blink back the tears that are threatening to spill because of the pain.

I take in several deep breaths then stand up, feeling so much pain as I step on my left leg, but I stay standing, knowing that I will only be hurt more if I don't push past the pain.
