**Onyx's POV**
It was late summer, just turning to fall, when I arrived here at the mansion. It was now mid-October, 2 weeks from Halloween to be exact, and my room had finally been completed. I moved all of my stuff into the new room, and it wasn't much. Just whatever I had shoved in my bag when I ran away. Last night, I had a realization. When Ben had hugged me, I realized what I was doing to him. I was going to hurt him. I was running away from here. I remembered what I had promised myself when I ran away from my real home. I told myself that I wouldn't get any help from anyone, and I guess that includes the Creepypastas now.
I assumed that when my parents found out that I went missing, they didn't care and didn't even try finding me. I assumed that when the people at school found out, they didn't care and didn't try finding me. So, I decided to leave here, in case someone did care and tried finding me. I doubt they would find this place, but if they did I didn't want to be here when they do. So, I had to leave. I had to stay on the run. But when to leave? I was thinking about after Halloween, that way I could take my candy with me when I leave. Yes, I was going trick or treating just so I could run away basically. I know that what I'm doing will probably hurt Ben, and my new friends, but I had to. I didn't want anyone finding me, ever.
**Halloween**
It was finally Halloween. I slipped on my costume, I was going as a hipster Alice in Wonderland. I walked out of my room and Ben walked out of his room at the same time. Ben was dressed in a zombie hunter costume.
"You look amazing," Ben told me.
"Thanks, and so do you," I blushed. Ben grabbed my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine. I glanced up at him, before looking back down at the ground. We walked down stairs together, to meet up with Jeff, Masky, and Hoodie.
I wanted to tell Ben my plan, of running away, and I want him to join me so badly, but I told myself I would do this alone. I can't tell him. It would break his heart, but it'll also break his heart when I run away tonight. I gave out a little sigh and Ben looked at me trying to ask me "What's wrong?" but without drawing attention to us. I just shook my head, I couldn't tell him and I wasn't going to. He would find out that I'm gone by sometime tomorrow. We made it to the living room silently. Jeff was dressed as Superman, Masky was dressed up as Batman, and Hoodie was dressed up as Captain America.
"I see you guys have a theme here," I told them and they all nodded.
"Yeah. We're all going as superheros!" Masky replied.
"Well are we ready to go?" I asked them, and they all nodded their heads. I tried to forget about running away tonight, just for now, but I couldn't. It kept popping up in my head. I guess Ben could tell because every now and then he would whisper a "Are you okay?" or "Do you want to talk?". I always turned him down though. I just couldn't bring myself to talk to him even. After trick or treating, we started walking home, but I didn't want to go just yet.
"I have an idea guys!" I told them, thinking about something I did once when I went trick or treating by myself.
"Okay. What is it?" Ben asked and a sly smile formed on my face.
"We should all switch costumes and go back around trick or treating. We'll get more candy!" I told them.
"Yeah, but I don't know if anyone would want to wear your costume. No offense, but you know. It's just a bit girly for us to wear," Jeff said.
"True," I answered. "I was smart and brought along another costume for myself."
"Okay, here. There's some bushes over there that we could hide behind to change," Ben said.
We all headed over to the bushes and Jeff and Ben went behind them first. So, Ben was now Superman and Jeff was now a zombie hunter. Masky and Hoodie went next. Masky was now Captain America while Hoodie was now Batman. I hopped behind the bushes, then decided to make it a point that the boys shouldn't look back here.
"Hey. If I catch any of you guys looking back here, I'm gonna tie you to a bed, give you nice and slow paper cuts, then pour salty lemon juice mixed with hand sanitizer into said paper cuts. So, don't look back here," I told them then quickly changed into my other costume. I came out dressed as a pig.
"Well, aren't you a lovely pig," Ben joked and I only blushed.
"Come one. Let's go and get us some more candy!" I told everyone and we all went around one more time. Afterwards, we went back to the mansion and decided that we all needed some sleep. We all headed to our rooms and I waited for the house to be quite. I shoved all of my candy into my bag, changed into some clean clothes, grabbed a pillow and my sleeping bag and threw some other clothes into my bag. I threw my bag onto my shoulder, and walked out of my room silently. I put my ear to Ben's door and heard only silence. I opened the door slightly and saw him sleeping. I tiptoed into his room and set up a chair and set the note that I had written to him on the chair. I looked at him one last time, and gave him a kiss on his cheek.
"Bye, Ben. I'll miss you," I whispered to him, then walked to the door. I was just about to step out of the room, but then-
"O-Onyx? Is that you? What are you doing with that ba- you're not leaving are you?" I heard Ben say and I spun around.
"Just go back to sleep, and in the morning read the note on the chair," I told him.
"Onyx, are you leaving?" Ben asked.
"Just go back to bed," I answered.
"Onyx. Tell me the truth. Are you leaving?" Ben repeated.
"Go back to sleep and you'll find out in the morning," I told him.
"Onyx, just tell me if you are or not. I promise, I won't try to stop you if you just tell me what you're doing," Ben said and I shook my head.
"You'll find out in the morning. Go back to bed," I answered.
"Onyx. I'm not going back to bed unless you tell me what you're doing," Ben told me.
"Yes. I'm leaving. Now, go back to bed," I finally told Ben.
"I'm going with you then," Ben told me.
"No, Ben. You promised," I shook my head.
"I didn't promise that I wasn't going with you. I promised that I wouldn't try to stop you," Ben answered.
"Ben. Go back to sleep. You can't come with me," I told him and he shook his head.
"I'm going with you whether you like it or not," Ben told me and got up. He threw on a shirt, then looked at me.
"Ben, no. I can't bring you with me," I told him.
"What are you gonna do about food? Do you even have money?" Ben asked.
"I have my Halloween candy," I embarrassingly told Ben.
"That's not enough. I can bring money, but you're not getting my money unless I can go with you. And I'm not letting you go without money or better food than just candy!" Ben told me and I looked up at him.
"Ben, listen. I'll be fine with just my candy. I still have a little bit of money left, so I can still buy fast food or something," I looked into Ben's eyes.
"No, Onyx. I'm going with you whether you like it or not," Ben grabbed my hand. "And I'm not letting go until we're outside and far away from the house." Ben dragged me to his desk and opened a drawer. He had tons of money in the drawer.
"Where did you get all that money?" I asked Ben.
"From all of the missions I went on. I stole the people's money in case anything like this ever happened. I mean, I never thought about something like this, but if I ever ran away I could take all this money. Now, open the pocket of your bag with your money," Ben instructed me and I did. I only had a few dollar bills and he gave me a look.
"What?" I asked him and he only smiled in response. We started shoving as much money as we could in the pocket, and we emptied out the drawer.
"We should be good with all this money. Now, let's go," Ben said, grabbing my hand again. I gave him a smile and we left silently. He grabbed the note before we left, and shoved it in his pocket. We snuk out of the house and ran into the woods.
