**Onyx's POV**

"Are you serious?" Ben whispered to me, turning us so our backs were facing Bianca and Brandon.

"Yes, seriously. I just told him it wouldn't work out because I'm in love with someone else," I answered.

"Well, that's good. I mean, what if he tries to make a move on you?" Ben asked, sounding worried.

"I won't let him," I told Ben and he nodded. We turned back around to talk to Brandon and Bianca.

"I assume Onyx told you what happened?" Brandon asked and Ben nodded.

"Well, I assume we should leave Brandon. Doesn't seem like these people don't want us around," Bianca told Brandon.

"Well of course we don't want you guys around," I said under my breath.

"What was that Onyx?" Bianca asked.

"Nothing. Just leave," I answered.

"That's what I thought," Bianca linked arms with Brandon. "Let's go Brandon."

"Okay," Brandon answered, sounding a bit upset. Bianca and Brandon started to leave.

"I mean, should we talk to them? So then we know how far away we are from the town?" I asked Ben.

"No, let them leave. If we get close to the edge of the forest, we'll know," Ben answered and we watched them leave. After they left, we sat around for a while and talked. We snacked on some more of the Halloween candy, then decided to head off. We walked around the forest, the autumn leaves crunching under our feet as we walked.

After about an hour of walking, we found a beautiful weeping willow tree. We decided to go and sit by the trunk, let the long twig like stems cover us from the afternoon sun. As we did so, I decided to walk around the trunk. I got to the other side and sworn I heard voices. I looked at the trunk imagining Ben sitting there, and then looked back at the leaves. I kept glancing back and forth from Ben to the leaves and back again. I thought about it for a moment later, then lifted up the leaves. I walked through silently and dropped the leaves. It was a beautiful image, so vibrant of color. There were flowers every where and a clear, blue lake in the center. There was a bench at one end of the lake, and it seemed like no one had been here since, forever.

I walked into the sunlight, feeling its warmth. It felt nice to be in the sunlight. Again, I heard voices but closer this time. I looked around, and saw no one there. I walked back to the tree to tell Ben.

"Hey Ben. I just found somewhere we could stay. We could just live there. It's like no one has ever been there!" I told him.

"Really?" He asked, sounding excited.

"Yeah! Follow me," I told him and he did. We walked over to where I had found the place and we walked through the leaves. As soon as we did, I heard the voices. I just wished I understood what the voices were saying. We walked around to the bench and looked into the lake. I noticed the fish in the lake, but they were some odd colors. The fish were blue, purple, pink, white, orange, green, basically any color you could think of!

"Wow...these are some interesting fish," Ben said and I nodded my head.

"I think I'm gonna go explore some," I told him and he nodded his head. I walked away and started looking around. I saw a squirrel, but it was blue.

"Hey little guy," I whispered to the squirrel and he turned his head.

"Hello human. You must be one of the specials," The squirrel said.

"What do you mean "one of the specials"?" I asked the squirrel.

"If you follow me, then hopefully you'll understand," The squirrel answered and took off. I decided that it wouldn't hurt to follow the squirrel, so I followed. We walked through some more forest, but it seemed more magical.

"So, were you the voices that I was hearing?" I asked the squirrel.

"It was probably the animals of the forest. If you're one of the specials then you can understand the animals of the forest," The squirrel answered.

"Yeah but, I've never been able to talk to animals before," I told the squirrel.

"That's because you didn't know you were a special and you haven't talked with the animals of the forest yet. Now you'll be able to understand nature and the animals," The squirrel told me and I suddenly felt stronger.

"Wait," I told the squirrel and we stopped. "So, you're telling me that I'm some kind of special person and I can understand animals?"

"Well, you can only understand the animals of the forest right now. After you talk to them, you'll be able to understand all animals," The squirrel told me and I nodded my head.

"Okay," I said slowly. "But, where are these "animals of the forest"?"

"Not that far away. Some specials have stayed with us, so we made this place for those specials. Now, follow me. We're almost there," The squirrel told me and I follow along.

"Do you have a name?" I asked the squirrel.

"Yes, my name's Squirrel," The squirrel, Squirrel, told me.

"Oh, um, that's a great name," I told Squirrel and he laughed a bit.

"Thanks, anyways we're here," Squirrel said as we came into a clearing. There were pixies flying around dressed in flower petals and leaves, animals scurrying around with baskets tied to their backs. As I looked around, I saw an empty throne underneath a beautiful cherry blossom tree. The throne was made of twisted twigs and sticks, colorful flowers sprouting here and there. I suddenly felt a bit more powerful, like I was supposed to be here, as I looked at the throne.

"Who's throne is that?" I asked Squirrel and he shrugged his shoulders.

"We haven't found out who's yet. It's one of the specials. Who knows, maybe it's you," Squirrel said. "Now, follow me."

I followed Squirrel threw the beautiful scenery, looking at the pixies and the cute animals rushing around.

"Well, now you must talk with the animals of the forest. All specials understand them the best. Anyways, I'm part of the animals of the forest, so it proves that your a special. But, we must find out what kind of special you are," Squirrel informed me and I nodded my head.

We walked into a building made out of a tree and there were animals around a table in the middle. There was a pink bunny, a purple and black raccoon, a tiny unicorn, and a wait, a unicorn?! I stared the majestic gray unicorn with black mane. I never thought of a unicorn being so, gray.

"Alright guys, this is a new special that I found while I was gathering acorns," Squirrel announced and all of the animals looked at me.

"What's you're name?" A cute, small hummingbird hummed, zipping around me.

"My name's Onyx," I announced to the group.
