So this is set after what the Great Luna War when Selene (Cinder) takes her rightful place as Queen of Luna and when Kai is back as Emperor in the Eastern Commonwealth.

Kai spun around on his 'spinny chair' in the office, sighing loudly and looking at the mounds of paperwork on his desk.
"I'm bored," he declared to Torinn, who was reading the newspaper with a slight frown on his face.
"Why don't you... Uh... Do something..." he muttered, clearly not interested.
"That was helpful," Kai said, voice dripping with sarcasm. Spying his portscreen lying on the coffee table, he snatched it up and decided to check on Cind- Queen Selene. Lots could have changed since yesterday, couldn't it?
Using his personal account, he tapped away at a message for her.
You: hey honey how you doing?
He sat back, eagerly awaiting the reply. Unfortunately, it was not what he was hoping for.
QueenSelene: new phone who dis
He sighed and rolled his eyes, but still a small smile playing on his lips. Cinder and I barely have any fun these day, he thought, justifying what he was just about to do. Why not have a laugh?
You: Your mother! why havent you got my number, young lady???
Kai couldn't remember what having a mother was like, but he had watched a lot of net dramas, so he had a faint idea of how they acted. The reply from 'QueenSelene' was almost instantaneous.

Kai chuckled, but still wondering why she had dropped off mid sentence.
QueenSelene: oh haha -.-
QueenSelene: im crying -.-
QueenSelene: that's hilarious -./
QueenSelene: -.-****
You: no seriously dear I thought youd at least have some respect and put your poor old mothers number in :((((((
QueenSelene: Oh, so this is really Adri?
QueenSelene: How much money do you want this time?
Just as Kai was about to reply, Torinn came over, handing him the newspaper, still frowning slightly.
"Thought you might want to read this," he said, before leaving the room. The newspaper article read:
Does Queen Selene have a new man?
The Queen has recently been sighted with a new, handsome man as she walks around town.
Before showing a rather grainy picture of what was unmistakably Cinder and... A new handsome man.
You: WHAT THE HELL CINDER
You: HAVE YOU SEEN THE HEADLINES?????????
You: EXPLAIN YOURSELF??!!!?!!?!!
QueenSelene: Woah, Adri, calm down! What newspaper?
Kai rolled his eyes at seeing that the newspaper was in fact Celebrity Gossip (Run by fangirls, for fangirls ;) ). This was probably the least trustable newspaper ever and had previously published an article on how he was said to have proposed to Kon Torinn. Torinn was married, for aces' sake!
You: ...Celebrity Gossip
QueenSelene: Hah! You read that?
You: WELL I DO NOW THIS IS KAI I DEMAND TO KNOW WHY ITS SAYS YOU HAVE A 'NEW HANDSOME MAN'!!!!!!
Just because it was Celebrity Gossip it didn't mean he was still a little mad and wanted an answer.
QueenSelene: Oh. Um, hi?
QueenSelene: So, uh, you see, you...
QueenSelene: You... You didn't really...
You: spit in out.
QueenSelene: I didn't like how you...
QueenSelene: I didn't like what they...
QueenSelene: I didn't like some of the guards you and the security council picked so I hired a new one
You: so naturally you pick the handsomest one and assign him as your bodyguard???? That you 'walk around town with'?????
QueenSelene: I've just read the article you mentioned and I can explain.
You: carry on then
QueenSelene: Jacin actually hired him
QueenSelene: And in that photo he was only near me because I didn't have enough money and I was hungry
QueenSelene: Like really hungry
You: oh ok that's fine then
You: i knew i couldnt trust Celebrity Gossip
You: did you see that article they did about how i proposed to Torinn?
QueenSelene: oh stars yes!!! I laughed my head off, it was hilarious!!!
QueenSelene: actually it was only hilarious after Winter showed me the article they did last time about me and Thorne being together
QueenSelene: and I haven't seen Thorne for over six months!! He's on a cruise with Cress in the Caribbean!!
You: ahahaha!! oh my stars im gonna get a subscription now i just wanna laugh at it now

QueenSelene: ...yeah
