*Ash's POV*
I flipped through the various choices of movies on Netflix, not sure what she would like to watch. I could hear her upstairs, and practically smell her nervousness. I continued my hopeless search, wishing that she would just come down so she could pick it. Groaning, I threw the remote back onto the couch, leaning my head against the back of the old black couch.
When I heard her light patters of footsteps coming down the stairs with my werewolf hearing, I immediately looked up. There she stood, looking hot as hell. Her light brown waves were pulled to the top of her head in a messily sexy bun, her beautiful face clear of any makeup. Her full pink lips were slightly parted, and she took her bottom one between her pearly white teeth. My breath hitched when my eyes reached her body, and I shamelessly let them trail all over her. My black v-neck tee shirt hung loosely on her petite frame, my blue checkered boxers revealing her never ending legs. God, that's hot.
"Ash?" She said quietly, watching me with careful eyes. Since we were mates, I could see partly into her mind, read her emotions. If I looked deep enough, I could tell that she was still the tiniest bit fearful, but she was also confused because she felt completely relaxed around me. Her lip was taken harshly between her teeth once again, and I motioned for her to come sit next to me on the plush couch. She smiled slightly, complying and walking over to me on the couch. She gingerly sat down, not wanting to touch me because she knew what would happen if she did. But I didn't care, I knew she'd let her guards down soon enough.
"What movie do you wanna watch, babe?" I asked, never breaking eye contact. She fell back against the couch, closing her eyes as she thought about it.
"Surprise me." She finally said at last, and I smiled.
"Well, if you say so," I hummed, turning my attention back to the TV. I flicked through the movies, stopping when I found a good one. 21 Jump Street. I pressed play, putting my feet onto the coffee table as the movie began.
Throughout the film, I could feel her anxiousness and need of me go through her. As the movie continued, I became more and more smug, especially when she tediously scooted closer. I smirked, reaching out and snaking my arms around her slim waist to pull her into my lap. She tensed, but then her body completely relaxed as she cuddled into me. I cradled her in my arms, her resting her light brown head against my chest. Her arms wrapped around my neck as we continued to watch the movie play out, and I felt her slowly getting sleepier by the minute.
She looked up at me, a lazy smile on her lips. "I don't really know why, but I trust you with everything I have. You are so amazing.." She murmured, pressing her face into the crook of my neck. She was almost totally asleep, and I gently ran my calloused fingers through her soft waves. I felt her smile slightly against my neck, obviously liking my actions. "So amazing.." She mumbled, and just when she was about to drift into unconsciousness, the door slammed open, smacking the wall behind it.
"YO!! ASH, WHERE YOU AT? MY WOLF CAN SMELL YOUR ASS SO DON'T YOU THINK ABOUT LYING!" A familiar voice shouted. Astrid's head shot out of it's spot in my neck, her eyes wide and scared. Her body trembled, and she whipped her head around to the entrance to the living room just as Mike, Cameron, Drew and Andy barge through with cat-like grins on their faces.
Their smiles immediately dropped when they saw Astrid's shaking body cowering in my arms, and I narrowed my eyes into slits at the thought of them making her scared. I looked back down at her, and she turned to me with scared eyes. I shook my head, my features softening.
"It's okay, love. These are my friends." She looked back at the boys, who appeared to be in a trance. Their eyes ran over her body, and because none of them had found their mates yet, they're wolves would let them.
A low growl came deep from my throat as I looked at them all, and their heads quickly shot up to meet my angered eyes. I regarded all of them, before looking back down at my frightened mate. She watched me carefully, and I gently lifted her from my lap and placed her back down onto the couch. She watched the boys, and I stood up from the couch, stretching a bit. I reached down and took her small hand in mine and pulled her up so she was standing next to me, slightly cowering behind my much taller frame. I wrapped an arm around her waist, about to introduce everyone, when I heard a loud howl outside my open door, seconds before a large black head belonging to a wolf peeked inside. It stood seven feet tall, large and muscualr as it calmly looked around. That is, until it caught Astrid's scent.
A small yelp came from her mouth as she stared at it in horror. My eyes widened when I realized that the wolf was in fact my crazy ex-girlfriend Cara. I had broken up with her about a year ago, and she was still completely crazy about me. She saw our position, immediately knowing that we were mates. She knew because of Astrid's scent- She was human, and I wouldn't be touching a human unless she was my mate.
Before I could process what was happening, Cara lunged at Astrid, teeth bared, claws extended. A raw scream ripped through my mates mouth as Cara's large wolf form hit her much smaller one, causing her to hit the wall. Cara hovered over her, and my nostrils flared as white-hot rage coursed through me. My wolf took over, leaping through the air as I shifted, my clothes ripping away from my body. Astrid had watched my entire shift, but as soon as I did, I could feel her fear dim a bit. Because I was in my wolf form, I could pick up her feelings a lot better. It was the complete opposite, honestly. I thought she would've been terrified once she'd seen my shift, but she'd relaxed a fair amount. I didn't care at the moment, though.
I pounced at Cara, ripping her away from my mate as my teeth came in contact with her grey ear. I growled, my teeth grazing parts of her body and clawing at the rough skin beneath her fur. She whimpered, and quickly lept out from underneath me and out the door.
I was about to follow after her, but stopped in my tracks once I felt a tiny hand on the top of my head. My body erupted in tingles at the contact, and I leaned into her touch. Turning my head to the left, I saw my mate standing there, watching me. My wolf had totally took over, and he turned his body to face her, leaning his head down to nuzzle her neck. I fought for control, feeling the utter desire course through our body.
I felt the surprised stares coming from my friends, but at the moment I could care less. Astrid took a tentative step forward, standing on her tip-toes to reach out both of her hands to stroke the sides of my face. She looked deep into my eyes, and I stared at the scratch marks on her beautiful face. I whimpered, and a small frown came onto her face as she finally felt the pain. She shook it away, before returning her attention back to me.
"Calm down," She said quietly, stroking my course black fur. "It's okay. I'm not hurt-" I interrupted her, growling slightly. She sighed, rolling her eyes a bit. "Okay, well, I meant that I'm not hurt that bad. But it's going to be fine, okay? Just calm down, calm down." She whispered the last part, continuing to stroke my fur. I relaxed, and flopped onto the floor at her feet, resting my head on my paws. She looked up at the others, her eyes widening a bit.
"How the hell did you get him to calm down?!" Mike cried, gawking at her.
She scratched the back of her head, looking down at me where I watched her. "I um, I-I don't know." She said quietly. I was going to have a lot of explaining to do to later.
